Carson City sheriff’s crime log: Arrests made for domestic battery, shoplifting and warrants
A 68-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday in the 2000 block of Bourgone Street for suspicion of domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the booking report, a sheriff’s deputy responded to the area of Bourgone Street and met with the victim who explained her longtime roommate had had been acting erratically and had injured her by grabbing her on the right shoulder from behind and yanking her backward. She ran away from the man and called 911, the arrest report states.
The woman complained of having a shoulder injury but declined medical attention. The deputy observed large red marks on the front of her shoulder and on the front of her throat as well as small red abrasions within the red marks.
The deputy made contact with the man, who had left the residence and went to the sheriff’s office. He was told to return. The suspect was read his Miranda warning and was advised by the deputy that he was there investigating claims of domestic battery.
The man denied he touched the woman and said she must have inflicted the injuries to herself. The man also claimed the woman made up the story so she could run off with a boyfriend. The man was asked about his relationship with the woman. He stated they were only roommates and were not physically involved. He later claimed the woman and him had been involved. The woman said the man was her roommate. The man was arrested at 8:10 p.m. for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
