Carson City deputies make three arrests for alleged felony assault with a deadly weapon
Two Carson City men were arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor battery, a sheriff's deputy said.
Roberto Antonio Guerrero, 27, and Jorge Fernando Lopez-Rios, 18 were arrested at 4:22 p.m. at a Woodside Drive apartment. According to the arrest report, the two were involved in a dispute with others in the area of Sierra Vista Lane and Silver Saddle Road in which the subjects got into an argument regarding private property.
The victims were allegedly threatened with a baseball bat and a pocket knife and were spit on, according to the arrest report.
The two men left the area in a black BMW, in which officers were able to locate. The officers interviewed the suspects and arrests were made. Bail for each: $20,500.
In other arrests:
— A 30-year-old Carson City man, Irving Shanchez Reyes, was arrested Saturday, 7:37 p.m. in the 700 block of South Saliman Road for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, a felony.
According to the arrest report, Carson City deputies were called to the area for a report of a man armed with a knife who was attempting to find a gun. Deputies arrived on scene, located Sanchez, who refused officer's command to show his hands and step forward. Officers detained him, escorting him outside. He refused to speak, was read his Miranda warning and stated he wouldn't talk. Officers could smell a strong odor of alcohol on the man.
Officers learned the man had been in an altercation and allegedly had a knife in his hands and threaten a person with the knife to the chest and throat area. The man did not make contact with the victim and the knife was taken away from the suspect, who then allegedly went to look for guns in the residence, which officers were told had been hidden from him. Sanchez was arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Bail: $20,000.
— A 51-year-old Carson City man, Jeffery Paul Gallup, was arrested Saturday for suspicion of a third DUI, according to a sheriff's arrest report. Deputies were alerted to the intoxicated driver and observed him drive at a high rate of speed westbound on Weninger Drive, where he pulled into the driveway of a Marvin Drive address, exited the vehicle and stumbled, the report states.
Deputies spoke with the man, who they had seen driving, observed his eyes were bloodshot and watery and could smell an odor of alcohol on his person. The man agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test of .120. He was arrested. At jail he provided evidential breath tests of .172 on each test. His criminal history revealed he had previously been convicted of DUI second offense with seven years. Bail: $20,000.
— A 40-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday for a felony warrant after a traffic stop. Leann Marie LePage was taken into custody for a warrant alleging unlawful use of gaming control items, and a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. The traffic stop was made because registration on the vehicle she was driving came back with a suspended status. Bail amount listed: $10,327.
— A 53-year-old Carson City man, Brian Dean Rasmussen, was arrested Saturday, 8:57 a.m. near a South Carson Street parking lot for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor warrant out of Sparks and other offenses.
According to the arrest report, a deputy did a records check on a vehicle license plate that came back suspended. The officer made a traffic stop, and learned the insurance had expired and that the man had a warrant out of Sparks Township Court. He was arrested for the warrant. During a search of the man officers located a broken meth pipe, a hydrocodone pill, and a pill that fell apart and did not look factory made, the report states. It was testing with a presumptive positive for heroin, the arrest report states. Bail amount listed: $7,336.
