Carson City arrests: Man with bad brake light and warrant also faces failure to yield charge
A man with a bench warrant was arrested Friday after he allegedly failed to yield for an officer who attempted a traffic stop due to a brake light that wasn’t working, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
The 49-year-old Fernley man was arrested at 3:55 p.m. near the intersection of corner of Gordon Street and Fairview Drive.
According to the arrest report, the man did not make any attempt to yield and pull over when the deputy attempted to make a traffic stop. The officer continued to follow with lights and sirens active while the vehicle made multiple lane changes and a left hand turn before eventually pulling over, according to the arrest report.
During the stop, an active misdemeanor warrant issued by Lyon County was discovered. Along with the warrant, the man was also cited for the broken brake light, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and failure to maintain lane. Bail: $8,796.
In other arrests:
— A 45-year-old Carson City woman was booked at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Friday at 2:30 p.m. after turning herself in for an active misdemeanor failure to appear warrant. Bail: $740.
— A 26-year-old Carson City woman was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI on the corner of Bath and Curry streets at 5:51 p.m. on Friday.
The woman also faces charges of violation of bail conditions and was cited for a non-functioning brake light and a license plate violation. She agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. She provided a preliminary breath sample of .151 and was arrested. At jail she provided voluntary evidentiary tests of .132 and .124. Bail: $4,281.
— A 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 12:10 a.m. at the intersection of South Carson and Rhodes Street for two misdemeanor warrants. According to the arrest report, the man’s vehicle was pulled over for having a non-functioning tail lamp.
Upon a records check the officer discovered an active failure to appear warrant issued by Carson City Justice Court, and another failure to appear warrant issued out of Sparks Municipal Court. The man was also cited for the non-functioning tail lamp and no valid driver’s license. Bail: $1,204.
