The officer went back to the vehicle to issue a citation for the expired registration. A second deputy arrived at the scene and asked the man if he would allow a K9 sniff of the vehicle. The man agreed. The man exited the vehicle and agreed to a pat down search. He was asked if he had any weapons or drugs on him. The man replied no.
