Carson City sheriff confirms pedestrian killed on North Carson Street; NHP says multiple vehicles involved
There was a fatal crash Wednesday morning involving a pedestrian near the intersection of North Carson Street and Medical Parkway, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong confirmed.
The crash was reported at around 6:20 a.m. and involves multiple vehicles in which the pedestrian, an adult male, was struck and died near the intersection of North Carson Street and Silver Oak Drive, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The preliminary investigation shows four confirmed vehicles are involved, said NHP Trooper Hannah DeGoey. The initial vehicle that struck the pedestrian stayed on scene.
The preliminary investigation shows the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk, said DeGoey. At least three vehicles struck the pedestrian and stopped and other vehicles struck the pedestrian but continued without pulling over, said DeGoey.
One vehicle that struck the pedestrian and left the scene has returned to the scene, said Trooper DeGoey.
The crash is being investigated by NHP.
Motorists are advised to use the I-580 College Parkway exit. North Carson Street is closed at Silver Oak and Medical Parkway until further notice.
At 9:55 a.m. Medical Parkway was opened, with traffic being re-directed from Silver Oak.
