Carson City deputies make domestic battery, probation violation and warrant arrests

A 42-year old transient was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony parole and probation violation stemming from an alleged domestic battery incident, a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy report states.

Albert William Buher was arrested at 10:36 a.m. in the 1800 block of Walker Drive. He also has a felony failure to appear warrant out of Lyon County.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a residence for a report of a man who returned to a residence after a domestic dispute the night prior. Dispatch advised the man has a confirmed felony warrant out of the Third District Court in Lyon County and a Priority 5 hold from the Department of Parole and Probation.

On arrival deputies made contact with the man and arrested him in reference to the domestic battery call the night prior, in which the parole and probation hold was put into place. No bail hold in lieu of a hearing.

In other arrests:
— A 21-year-old Mound House man was arrested Nov. 29, 10:06 p.m. in the area of Carriage Crest and Windridge Drive for a misdemeanor bench warrant issued August 21, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.

— A 44-year-old transient was arrested Nov. 29, 12:57 a.m. in the 3300 block of Market Street for two outside agency warrant, one in Eureka County, and the other out of the Justice Court Township in Carlin. Bail: $4,550.

— A 25-year old Carson City man was arrested Nov. 28, 2:58 a.m. for suspicion of domestic battery second offense. According to the arrest report, deputies responded to a residence after being called for a domestic dispute. Deputies arrived and could hear yelling coming from inside the apartment.

Deputies knocked and announced their presence several times. After several minutes a female, who had a bloody nose, answered. The victim appeared "standoffish" with deputies, who asked if she could step outside to speak.

The woman was asked about what happened to her face. The woman replied "nothing happened to my face," the report states. A deputy advised her that her one was bleeding. She was asked several times what happened and she declined to say anything other than the two had been arguing and that nothing else happened.

Another person, a female, who was inside the apartment, was asked what happened between the two. The woman said she was sleeping, heard the arguing and kept her door closed. She was was asked if she saw anything physical happened between the male and the female said no, the report states.

The suspect had blood on his arms but did not appear to be bleeding himself. The woman had scratch marks on her neck, the report states. She was asked again what had happened and she replied that nothing happened and that the two were arguing.

A search of the man's criminal history showed he had a prior conviction for domestic battery in December 2015. He was also arrested for domestic battery 10 days prior. He was placed into custody for suspicion of domestic battery second, a misdemeanor, and taken to jail without incident. Bail: $5,137.

— An 18-year-old Carson City man, Taylor Anthony Fassett, was arrested Nov. 28 for suspicion of probation violation, possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to a North Carson Street residence for a domestic dispute. Deputies learned the man had been aggressive with a female and was thought to be intoxicated or high and had a gun under the seat of his vehicle.

Deputies located the man at another residence, where consent was given to search his vehicle. Deputies located a black air-soft handgun under the front seat and trace amounts of methamphetamine was found as well as other drug paraphernalia.

The man is on probation for manufacturing, importing and possessing of a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery, according to the arrest report. The Department of Parole and Probation requested the man be arrested for suspicion of violation of probation and placed on hold without bail.

UPDATE THURSDAY: The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the two people who died Wednesday morning following the two vehicle crash on I-580 in Carson City. They are Alejandra Hernandez Valtierra, 36, and Viola Santoyo Huizar, 48, both of Carson City.

UPDATE 12:42PM: Southbound I-580 in Carson City was opened as of around 11 a.m., said a Nevada State Police spokeswoman, who provided more details of the fatal crash that happened early Wednesday morning.

Both the driver of a car and a truck involved in the crash died. Their names have not been released pending notification of family members. The car, which was going the wrong way — northbound in the southbound lane — struck the truck and caught on fire, according to a NSP preliminary investigation thus far. The vehicle makes are unknown at this time.

Dayton Elementary School in Lyon County was honored Wednesday along 13 other schools including Carson High in Carson City as a Nevada Purple Star School.

Schools receiving the designation have committed to supporting the educational and social-emotional needs of military-connected children and their families.
