Carson City Community Center's 'Boo-Nanza' a hit among trick-or-treaters and parents alike
Parents and trick-or-treaters found a safe and fun alternative — or perhaps a precursor for those that can't get enough of costumes and candy — to traditional Halloween night trick-or-treating at the Carson City Community Center's Boo-Nanza Tuesday evening.
The event, which is on its second year run, is brought about by a partnership between the Carson City Library and Carson City Parks and Recreation, who decided to create a safe and fun event.
It ran from 4-7 pm at the Carson City Community Center.
Inside, children could trick-or-treat from vendor booths set up and decorated by local businesses and organizations, and outside two bounce houses, food trucks, and carnival-style games (including pumpkin bowling) were all set up and staffed by spooky volunteers.
The event was free, asking only that participants bring a non-perishable food item as a part of the food drive.
Tonight, there are a few options for traditional trick-or-treating, including the 4th Annual Downtown Candy Crawl hosted by the Downtown Business Association, in addition to the many participating neighborhoods!
Don't forget to stop by the Governor's mansion and wish a farewell trick-or-treat to Governor Sandoval!
Happy Halloween, Carson City.
