Carson City sheriff's deputies make DUI, felony warrant arrests
A 28-year-old man was arrested early Thursday morning for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, speeding 16 to 20 over the limit and failure to yield for a pedestrian, a Carson City sheriff's report said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the 2000 block of North Carson Street following a traffic stop on a vehicle that was going 40 mph in a 25 mph zone.
A Carson City sheriff's sergeant made the stop after he observed the driver, from Chico, Calif., had also made a right turn onto East Winnie Lane while there was a man in a wheelchair crossing the street in the crosswalk.
Officers could smell an odor of alcohol coming from his person. He was asked how many drinks he had consumed and he told the sergeant he had two. He later told another officer, none. He agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment, the arrest report states.
He provided a preliminary breath test and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. He consented to an evidentiary breath test after initially declining. He submitted tests of .191 and .182. Bail: $1,416.
