Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man booked on second domestic battery charge
A 42 year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday morning at 12 a.m. in the 3800 block of Imperial Way on a second misdemeanor domestic battery offense, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
According to the arrest report, Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the residence on report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with the suspect, a female and a juvenile.
The suspect stated he got into an argument with the juvenile for "talking crap about his mother," and that the boy threatened to beat him up. The suspect further stated the argument never got physical, the report said, but the juvenile stated he was going to kill him, so he shook the bed to get the child's attention.
The female was then interviewed by deputies, stating she heard the suspect and the juvenile yelling from the latter's bedroom. She then witnessed the suspect shove the juvenile's bed across the room and slap the child, the report said.
When the female asked the suspect to stop, she said he responded "no," proceeding to throw a bookshelf down. At that point, the female called 9-1-1.
Deputies also interviewed the juvenile, who said the suspect was chewing him out while he was trying to sleep in his room. The boy said the suspect did not like the way he was answering him back, so he began shaking the bed. When asked to stop, the suspect shook the bed really hard, causing it to tilt.
The juvenile reported he told the suspect he "bet his dad would kick [the suspect's] a**," and the suspect replied to him that his father was not there to protect him, the report said.
At that point, the juvenile stated the suspect then began slapping him, connecting twice on the left side of his face. Deputies observed no signs of bruising the child's face.
But based on the totality of the evidence, the suspect was handcuffed, taken into custody and transported to the Carson City Jail, where he consented to a preliminary breath test (PBT) that yielded a breath-alcohol content (BAC) of .211 percent.
A records check showed the suspect had a prior conviction for misdemeanor domestic battery within the past seven years. Bail: $5,000.

Law enforcement contact was made with the driver, who was observed to exhibit red, watery eyes and slurred speech. An odor of alcohol was also smelled coming from the suspect driver's breath, the report said.
When asked if he had been drinking, the suspect admitted to having drank three beers. He consented to field sobriety testing (FST), which showed signs of impairment, as well as to a PBT, which yield BAC of .150 percent, the report said.
