Carson City man jailed for allegedly trying to run woman over arrested for additional charges

A Carson City man who was arrested last week for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly attempting to run over his wife’s friend with his car was arrested Monday on additional charges, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Kevin James Jameson, 21, was arrested Monday for suspicion of second assault with a deadly weapon, a felony, reckless driving, a misdemeanor and child endangerment, a gross misdemeanor, according to a sheriff's office deputy report.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office was contacted by family members who gave statements about a similar second incident that occurred on July 16, 2018 after hearing of Jameson's arrest.

The family members told deputies that Jameson had “complete control” over his wife, and had forced her to become isolated from all of her friends and family members, the arrest report states.

They said on July 16, while the family was driving on Roop Street, they noticed a vehicle tailgating very close behind. When they pulled onto Northridge Drive, they saw Jameson speed past.

When they pulled up to Jameson’s sister-in-law’s house, they heard an engine rev from behind them and looked up to see Jameson speeding past at a high rate of speed very close to the vehicle. He was blaring his horn and had to “slam on his brakes to negotiate a sudden turn at a stop sign,” according to the police report.

One family member recalls bracing for impact several times during the altercation, as Jameson allegedly kept swerving at the last second before colliding with the car, the arrest report states.

The family members were extremely concerned as there were children in the car and the incident was unprovoked, according to the report.

When deputies made contact with Jameson and his wife, both “appeared evasive.” At first, Jameson said he was nowhere near the area, and his wife confirmed. Then he admitted he had a job in the Northridge area, and his wife confirmed that as well, but stated she had been with him and nothing had happened.

The deputy believed the couple were lying, and Jameson was taken into custody. During the deputy’s recitation of Jameson’s Miranda rights, he said Jameson interrupted him numerous times and lashed out against him personally. Bail: $23,137.

In other arrests:
— A 35-year-old Dayton woman was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny Monday at 1 p.m. after allegedly stealing merchandise with her boyfriend from the C.A.L. Ranch store on North Carson Street.

An employee saw a man exit the store after the alarm at the front doors sound. When the employee ran after him, asking him to return to the store, she noticed his pants were “stuffed with merchandise,” the arrest report states. He then turned back and began walking quickly towards her, waving his hands in an aggressive manner and screaming at her. She told him she was calling the police and he ran.

The employee noticed a woman in the car he had been walking toward, and when she attempted to make contact with her, the woman grabbed a puppy and some bags and walked away on foot, heading north, the arrest report states.

While the arresting deputy was taking a statement, the woman returned and said she had only been in C.A.L. Ranch to buy medicine for her 10 week old puppy. Upon reviewing the security footage, they saw the woman handing her boyfriend clothing items to put down his pants, according to the arrest report.

A search is still underway to locate the man, known to the woman as “Skip,” but deputies located a wallet belonging to him and determined his name from Casino player’s cards. The woman is being held on a $352 bail.
The puppy was also taken into custody by animal control.

— A 33-year-old stay at home mom and a 28-year-old Carson City man were arrested in the 400 block of Corbett Street Monday night on two warrants for misdemeanor battery. Each is being held on a $3,000 bail.

— A 28-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 800 block of East Musser Street early Monday morning for suspicion of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

While on patrol, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy noticed a woman sitting on the curb with her bags and possessions in the middle of the travel lane. After speaking with her for a few minutes, the deputy searched her bag and found a pipe used for methamphetamine use. Bail: $1,000.
