Here is a statement regarding the flash flood warning:
We would like to remind everyone to keep an eye out on the weather today- especially those residents in the Fish Springs area. According to the National Weather Service the Monarch fire area has potential for flash flooding today along with a lightening forecast.
Ominous looking clouds will be noticeable with scattered storms again this afternoon (June 25th). Potential impacts: hail, strong outflow winds, frequent lightning, new fire starts, heavy rainfall with flash flooding.
Below are some other important changes to note:
• Increased risk of flash flooding for Eastern Sierra & Nevada south of Hwy 50 today
• Debris flow hazards near recent burns
• Humidity looks to increase late day Sunday (June 28th) which may mitigate fire weather risk some for areas near/west Hwy 395
