Casting Call Carson City: 'Casino Boss' returns Thursday for round 3, locals sought for multiple roles
CARSON CITY — Casting call for extras and minor roles for the third episode of locally filmed sitcom "Casino Boss" will be held at Alatte inside the Carson Nugget Casino, 507 N. Carson St., Thursday, April 11, at 2 p.m. Area residents and guests age 21 and over are encouraged to apply. No acting experience is necessary.
Roles to be filled include black jack dealers, big players, gourmet food server, model — pretty girl at poker table, “Millennial” and other extras inspired by iconic spy movies of the golden casino era.
Episode three of "Casino Boss" will be filmed Friday through Sunday, April 12-14 inside the Carson Nugget. Area residents are invited to sign up on Thursday to be an extra or for one of the open roles.
Casino Boss welcomes back episode two comedians and performers including comedians Bob Zany, Kabir “Kabeezy” Singh, David Ray and Joby Saad to the show, and a reprisal of Leslie Norris Townsend, who brought down the house in episode 1.
Local talent comedians Carla Jackson-Wilson, Cameron Crain, Sophie Moeller and Roger Diez are also part of the cast. The show is being directed and produced by Brandi Brown with Tahoe Production House, and written by the Carson Nugget’s owner, Dean DiLullo.
"It is exciting to see a major production happening in Carson City with a lot of talent from around the country," DiLullo said. "The chemistry of the talent is fantastic."
DiLullo said the sitcom, based loosely on the history of the Carson Nugget and the “wacky things that happen in the gaming industry,” has been picked up by Spectrum, Charter, and will also be aired on Reno’s KTVN Channel 2 in May.
DiLullo, the show’s creator and writer, said both episodes can also be seen online at https://casinobosstv.com/ and viewers can also play “What Happened to Dom?” for a $10,000 VIP package at the Carson Nugget.
“Clues will be given in each episode of Casino Boss,” he said. “After enough clues have been given, we’ll give viewers an opportunity to send in their entries. The prize will be awarded to the first person who accurately answers the question, ‘What happened to Dom?’”
The Carson Comedy Club features Casino Boss & Friends, featuring Zany, Singh, Norris Townsend and Saad, on Friday, April 12, and Carson City Tonight, hosted by Zany, on Saturday, April 13. Both shows begin at 8 p.m. and will be filmed live. Limited tickets are available for $20 and can be purchased online at www.ccnugget.com or in person at the Winners Club inside the Carson Nugget Casino.
“Each comedy show will be completely different, and each one is a must see,” DiLullo said. “These guys each on their own bring a level of comedy not often seen in our market. Together, they are unbelievable.”
