History of the Nevada Day Chili Feed

The famous Awful Awful Burger was created by Dick Graves at the Carson Nugget on March 1, 1954. Dick Graves opened the Carson Nugget Casino and served the first Awful Awful Burger for only 55 cents on opening day of the Carson Nugget.

Local customers visited Carson City area casinos on reopening day Thursday, June 4 with new guidelines and safety measures put in place.

After a statewide shutdown in March due to COVID-19, casinos were allowed to resume operations Thursday under safety rules established by the Center for Disease Control and Nevada Gaming Control Board.

This Friday night at the Carson Comedy Club inside the Carson Nugget the headliner will be the star of the "Casino Boss" sitcom series comedian Joby Saad.

Who's excited for this Friday's comedy show at the Carson Comedy Club? Sean Peabody, star of Casino Boss is back! Born in San Diego and raised in the Bay Area of California, this comedian has been exploding on the comedy scene for the last 14 years. With a Polynesian background, he has adapted to all styles and types of comedy.

Good morning Carson City, today is Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 and it will be a soggy one at that. Rain will continue throughout the morning, changing to snow showers later this afternoon, which has prompted a Winter Weather Advisory for the lower valley areas such as Carson City and Carson Valley. Forecasters urge motorists not to travel into the Sierra today as several feet of heavy snow will impact roadways and travel.

CARSON CITY — Casting call for extras and minor roles for the second episode of local sitcom Casino Boss will be held at Alatte inside the Carson Nugget Casino, 507 N. Carson St., Thursday, Jan. 17, from 4 to 6 p.m.

UPDATE: Episodes of the new television sitcom "Casino Boss" will begin airing Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 on Charter Spectrum Cable Channel 190, the Carson Nugget said.
The program will then air daily at 4 p.m., 8 p.m. and 12 a.m. until Jan. 31, 2019.

The pilot episode of “Casino Boss,” a TV sitcom filmed this summer in Carson City about the inner workings of a casino starring comedian, actor and Saturday Night Live alum Joe Piscopo will be shown on Charter cable sometime in the near future.
