Two arrested for meth trafficking after parking in front of a 'No Parking' sign
A 47-year-old Carson City man and a 29-year-old Carson City woman were arrested early Monday morning on the charges of felony trafficking of a schedule one controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. The woman also had an additional charge of violating her suspended sentence.
Ameil Demetrius Williams and Ashley Anna Klos were arrested in the area of Kings Canyon and Canyon Drive after deputies spotted the occupied vehicle parked in a dirt lot on the side of the road, parked directly in front of a “No Parking” sign.
After speaking with the occupants, Williams and Klos, dispatch advised Klos was under the Department of Alternative Sentencing on drug charges, and Williams was an ex-felon regarding drug charges.
Klos was asked to step out of the vehicle, and deputies asked if she had anything illegal on her or in her purse. She said the purse at her feet was not hers, but after a while she admitted it was hers, but she had lied because she had a marijuana pipe in it, a violation of court conditions.
Klos gave permission to the deputies to search her purse. Inside, they found a broken glass tube with a clear crystal substance recognized as a methamphetamine pipe. They also found a separate bag with methamphetamine.
Klos told deputies she and Williams has been smoking methamphetamine before the deputies arrived, and that Williams had prepared the drugs and used his own pipe.
Wiliams gave deputies consent to search the vehicle. In the search they located a methamphetamine pipe between the passenger seat and the passenger door. Another was found between the center console and the passenger seat, along with a black key holder containing a “moderate amount” of methamphetamine. Throughout the driver side seat was more loose crystals of methamphetamine, scattered around.
Both Williams and Klos denied having any knowledge of the methamphetamine in the car or the multiple methamphetamine pipes.
However, both admitted to smoking methamphetamine just before the deputies’ arrival.
They were taken into custody without incident.
Williams Bail: $21,137
Klos Bail: $22,137; $1,000 cash
— A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday morning in the area of E. Winnie Lane and Lone Mountain Drive for driving with a suspended license.
Deputies noticed the vehicle driving northbound on Roop Street, and it was sliding excessively and having trouble maintaining its travel lane due to the vehicle unable to gain traction on the icy roads.
Deputies performed a registration check which returned that the owner, who deputies were familiar with, had a suspended license. His license was suspended for “failure to maintain financial responsibility” and he was cited in May and October of 2018 for driving with a suspended license.
He was booked without incident for driving without a valid license.
Bail: $637

A 37-year-old transient man was arrested on two contempt of court warrants, one from Carson City Justice Court, the other from East Fork Township. Both warrants were issued after the man failed to appear for court dates.
While conducting a business check at a local casino, deputies made contact with a male subject who said he would most likely have active warrants. A check revealed he had two active warrants, and he was transported to the Carson City Jail for booking without incident.
Bail: $3,376 cash only
