Carson City sheriff’s bookings: Arrests made for stolen vehicle warrant, burglary and DUI

A 42-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was booked early Friday on a felony fugitive from justice warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Arrested at 4:03 a.m. was John Michael Taylor. The warrant was issued Feb. 2, 2017 out of Lake Tahoe Superior Court with a $315,000 bail amount. No other information was available.

— A 43-year-old Portola, Calif., man Leonardo Perez, was arrested Thursday, 4:54 p.m. in the 3300 block of Market Street for felony suspicion of burglary by shoplifting. According to the arrest report, the man allegedly stole a sweatshirt and left the store without paying. When loss prevention attempted to stop him, the man allegedly became combative and flicked a lit cigarette at the security team member. Bail: $2,500.

— A 54-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 5:48 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Carson Street on a misdemeanor charge of not having a court-ordered breath test interlock device in his vehicle. Bail: $637.

— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 1:44 a.m. in the 1000 block of Corbett Street for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, failing to maintain a lane of traffic and open container. According to the arrest report, the man was stopped after taking a wide turn into oncoming westbound traffic and continued to drive in oncoming traffic.

The officer stopped him and observed signs of drinking. The man had an open bottle of Blue Moon beer in the center cup holder. The officer asked the man how many alcoholic beverages he had consumed. The man told the officer he had two Coors lights at a casino and had consumed three or four Blue Moon beers. He was asked if he would participate in field sobriety tests. The man agreed and showed signs of impairment. He completed a preliminary breath test with a result of .214 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI and the other charges. $1,416.

— A 54-year-old transient was arrested Thursday, 5:54 p.m. in the area of Snyder and South Carson streets for misdemeanor suspicion of fictitious registration, driving without insurance and a failure to appear traffic warrant. Bail: $1,009.

— A Galt, Calif., man was booked Thursday into Carson City jail on a misdemeanor warrant for an alternative sentencing violation. The warrant was issued Jan. 14, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.

— A 33-year Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 5 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Division Street for a misdemeanor violation of bail conditions warrant issued Jan. 18, 2017 out of Carson City Drug Court. He was held without bail in lieu of a hearing.

— A 43-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday, 9:29 a.m. in the 2200 block of East Long Street for a misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence warrant issued Jan. 19, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,137.

— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 10:55 a.m. in the 1600 block of Airport Road for two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants issued Jan. 26, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $6,000.
