Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Several jailed after fight at Centennial Park

A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested on a felony charge of giving false identification to avoid being arrested following a fight Tuesday night at Centennial Park, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Manuel Arroyo Jr., was taken into custody following an investigation into the incident that happened at around 6:30 p.m. Several others were arrested on lesser charges, including a 24-year-old for obstruction, and three others for consuming alcohol and being underage.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the park after a report of a fight and possible stabbing. Deputies arrived and determined there had been a fight with the suspects sustaining minor injuries of cuts, skinned knuckles and dirty clothing. A knife was recovered but it wasn’t used to stab anyone, according to a Carson City sheriff’s sergeant at the scene.

Arroyo and others were questioned over what they were doing at the park and who had been fighting. As deputies gathered information to determine who was involved, Arroyo gave officers false information about his identity. He was arrested on the felony charge and a misdemeanor charge of probation violation. Arroyo’s bail was set at $13,000.

The 24-year-old suspect continued throughout the interview process to not be truthful with officers and was subsequently arrested for obstructing. His bail was set at $412. Officers arrested three others involved in the altercation for all being underage and having consumed alcohol. Bail: $242 each.

In other arrests:
— A 22-year-old Carson City man, Ivan Rodriguez-Lora, was arrested Tuesday, 7:40 p.m., in the 1100 block of Kennedy Drive on a felony charge of violating probation. He’s being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.

— A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 2:32 p.m. in the 1500 block of East Fifth Street on a misdemeanor warrant for DUI issued Dec. 16, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $2,000.

— A 37-year-old man was arrested Tuesday, 7:40 a.m. in the 3200 block of Wingate on a misdemeanor charge, violation of probation. According to the arrest report, he was at the residence that he wasn’t allowed to be on and had consumed alcohol. At the time officers arrived the man was intoxicated and blew a .311 preliminary breath test, according to the arrest report. Bail: $3,000.

— Two people were arrested Monday night in the 3100 block of Desatoya Drive on gross misdemeanor charges of battery on a police officer, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the booking report, deputies were called to the residence at 3:24 p.m. in reference to a domestic dispute.

Dispatch advised officers that the suspect had battered his mother and sister and that he has a criminal history of being combative with officers. Officers arrived and were met with hostility by the suspect and his mother. Deputies determined that a crime had not happened and left the residence.

Around 20 minutes later the original reporting caller requested a civil standby at the residence so she could pick up her three children. Deputies arrived at the scene where the suspect then charged at a deputy with a child seat, the arrest report states. He was told to stop but ignored the officer. As a deputy attempted to detain him, the man kicked the officer several times.

The suspect’s mother then came out and began yelling a deputies about her son being detained, poking an officer in the chest area with her finger. She was taken into custody. Both were charged with battery on a peace officer, a gross misdemeanor. Bail: $2,500 each.
