Carson City Horseshoe Club celebrates 40th anniversary
The Carson HorseShoe is celebrating 40 years by bringing back some old favorites and starting some new ones.
This August 3 the family-owned and operated HorseShoe Club Casino located in Downtown Carson City, is celebrating their 40th anniversary.
The casino was once owned by Gene Chaney who has since passed away. It is now owned and operated by his five children. Carson City resident Jeannette Chaney Kelley has been the Casino's President for 16 years and her brother Jeff Chaney is the Casino's General Manager.
Back by popular demand, The Lucky Horse Grille located inside the HorseShoe Club is now open for business.
“Long time locals and annual visitors have let us know how much they loved and missed The nostalgic Lucky Horse Grille," said Dana Lee Fruend, marketing director for the HorseShoe Club. "With the space once again available for a restaurant, the happy choice was to was bring it back... by popular demand! Our team is kicking it old school; really good people making great food, committed to excellent service.”
The LH Grille was known for their famous Lucky Horse hamburgers, steak nights, chili and tasty soups. All have been brought back. New to the Casino is Shawn Roe, the Food and Beverage Manager for the HorseShoe Club.
“We have brought back many old favorites and put together a simple, fresh and delicious menu serving breakfast, lunch and dinner late into the evening. We have recruited an amazing kitchen and wait staff and are so very proud to have the talented and experienced, Chef Mario Bracamontes leading our kitchen team. We also feel very fortunate to have Scotty Mackey heading up and training our wait staff. With this crew, It is our daily commitment to excellence to make it fresh, fast, consistently good and always a friendly staff to make your dining experience with us a great one,” said Roe.
Also new is the Carson HorseShoe Club has become an official sponsor of “Street Vibrations” bringing this event back to the Downtown. 19 years ago Street Vibrations originated in the back parking lot of the Nugget. The Horseshoe in association with Randy Burke and Roadshows, Agency 36, the Carson City Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Children's Museum and others will be presenting entertainment, raffles, vendors, a kids obstacle course, ride and show, bike games, brews, BBQ and demonstrations.
