Local Entertainment Lands at Carson City Airport Open House
Northern Nevada’s own Rick J. Radecki touches down his traveling road show in the backyard of our state capital. If you’re wanting to experience first-rate, high-energy live entertainment that’s not only family friendly, but sure to catch your ear and inspire your love for good music to take flight, you’ve got to catch Radecki’s newest show: “Proud to be An American — A Musical Salute to Our Troops and All Things Americana.”
On Friday, June 19, Radecki will unveil this one-of-a-kind patriotic and military-salute extravaganza at the Carson City Airport in honor of the “Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation” and their tireless work on behalf America’s veterans. Darryl Fisher is co-founder and President of the organization. Whenever he can, he travels around the U.S. in his 1942 Boeing Stearman biplane, stopping in small towns and big cities to give rides to military veterans residing in Senior Living communities.
As Mr. Fisher explains: “The primary focus is on individuals living in long-term care communities. Our mission is to ‘Give Back To Those Who Have Given.’ We provide ‘Dream Flights’ in a Boeing Stearman biplane, the same aircraft used to train many military aviators in the late thirties and early forties. To date, we have made dreams come true for more than 400 seniors.” On Friday, June 19, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Mr. Fisher and his crew will be at the Carson City Airport sharing the exciting plans on tap for “Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation,” their goals for the future, and how the public can get become key partners in this worthy aim and help the dreams of aging veterans nationwide soar to new heights.
Then, on Saturday, June 20 — also at the Carson City Airport which is located at 2600 East College Parkway in Carson City — Rick J. Radecki returns with even more toe-tapping, hand-clapping music and an entourage of special surprise guests along the way. Beginning at 8:00 a.m., and performing up to 4:00 that afternoon, Radecki brings to the tarmac his unique collection of hit tunes from yesteryear. He calls the offering: “Rick J. Radecki—Unsalted and Raw.”
You don’t want to miss this high-flying live-singing carnival-like display of a variety of music, including romantic standards, classic country, show tunes, oldies, pop hits from the 60s on up and through the 80s, as well as patriotic favorites, in a show specifically tailored for the airport’s big Open House event and its anticipated 5,000 guests. In between sets, Radecki will be taking requests for special dedications.
Both special events this Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20 are open to the public. Rick J. Radecki’s shows for those two days are free to all in attendance. As Radecki states: “I am truly honored to play a small role in this weekend. After all, how can you not want to be a part of giving back to our vets for all that they’ve given for us? Plus, Saturday’s open house at the airport is simply a way for me to show my appreciation for the support my community’s given to me and my music. It’s the least I can do in return.”
