The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division is asking for assistance in locating any witnesses to a stabbing that took place in the 100 block of Rice Street.

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting three new positive cases and one additional recovery of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 274, with 198 recoveries and seven deaths, 69 cases remain active.

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting five new positive cases and two additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region.

This brings the total number of cases to 271, with 197 recoveries and seven deaths, 67 cases remain active.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Wednesday, June 17 that there are two new positive cases and four additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad County region. This brings the total number of cases to 266, with 195 recoveries and seven deaths, 66 cases remain active.

Election Updates as Final Ballots are processed in Carson City and beyond

Election Day was June 9 in Nevada, but due to the nature of this year's mail-in election, ballots were still being received for a week following Election Day.

However, all ballots must have been received by Tuesday, June 16 to be counted, and those that arrived must have been postmarked by June 9.

While final official results will be announced by the Secretary of State's Office on June 19, here is an update:

Carson City's voter statistics show no significant changes despite majority mail-in voting system

Voter turnout for Carson City has remained virtually unchanged despite the mail-in voting for the June primary, according to initial results from the primary. For those residents concerned over voter fraud due to the new system, this should come as a relief.

Election Day underway in Carson City

Today is election day in Carson City and throughout the state of Nevada, and due to COVID-19, things are happening a little differently this year.

For example, ballots were mailed in March to every registered voter throughout the Silver State to lessen the need for voters to turn up in person to cast their ballots.

Secretary of State: Voters can expect Nevada primary results finalized June 19

The 2020 primary election in Nevada is today, Tuesday, June 9. The election is being conducted primarily by mail ballot. Limited in-person voting locations will be available on June 9.

In Carson City, the Primary Election will be held by mail, with limited polling locations at the Carson City Courthouse. Voters are encouraged to vote their mailed ballot and return the ballot to the Clerk's office in the postage paid envelope provided.

Graduation parade routes in Douglas County announced for Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will facilitate road closures and procession routes area graduates will take during high school commencement ceremonies through the Carson Valley this Saturday and at Lake Tahoe on June 19. Please remember the streets will be closed to traffic at approximately 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Detours around the parade routes will be available and are listed in detail below.

Carson City law officers, Deputy Carl Howell, remembered at wreath laying ceremony

Local law enforcement and participants gathered Thursday at the Carson City Sheriff's Office to honor fallen Carson City officers during a wreath laying ceremony.

Mayor Bob Crowell gave the opening statement and spoke on the loss of Deputy Carl Howell on August 15, 2015. He and Carson City Undersheriff Ken Sandage offered words and tribute to Howell and the four other law enforcement officers who lost their lives while in the line of duty in the city.
