Carson City Historical Society Garden Tour with Capitol Tree Walk
Join us for the Carson City Historical Society's Annual Garden Tour, this year featuring a Tree Walk of our Capitol Grounds by Tom Henderson of Healthy Trees. Visit 10 private gardens, talk with their gardeners, and enjoy exclusive access to the new Greenhouse at Carson High School. At 4:30pm we'll "Put the garden tour to bed" with wine, refreshments, and a talk by Joanne Skelly. The day is complete with demonstrations by artists at the historic Foreman-Roberts House, and plants & starts from the Mark Twain Garden Club.
Before the Garden Tour, from 10am to about 11am, Tom will stroll our Capitol's arboretum discussing the historic background of these venerable trees. Stop for a bite to eat at the downtown Farmer's Market before or after the Tree Walk, then begin the Garden Tour at 1pm.
Tix are $10 per person, available in advance at the Greenhouse Garden Center (2450 S. Curry St.) & Westwall Militaria (412 N. Curry St.), as well as on the day of tour at the Foreman-Roberts House, 1207 N. Carson (11am to 3pm). For more info: 775-887-8865.
