The community theatre companies in Carson City and Douglas County, along with our local performance venues, have created a coalition with the goal of navigating the challenges specific to our local theatre community brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Carson City Kiwanis supports local causes serving children, youth, elderly and disabled. Focused on this mission, the club hosts an annual Bingo and Pasta Feed to support the Carson City Senior Citizen’s Center Meals on Wheels program. Unfortunately, like many other local events, the club was forced to cancel the April 2020 fundraiser due to COVID-19.

Thursday health report for Quad County COVID-19, 2 Carson City youth among 6 new cases

Quad-County Emergency Operations Center in Carson City is reporting six new positive cases and one recovery of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 134, with 87 recoveries and two deaths, 45 cases remain active.

Quad-County Emergency Operations Center in Carson City is reporting Tuesday that there are three new positive cases, including one person under the age of 18 in Carson City, and two recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. RENO — To adapt to the recent restrictions amid COVID-19, the Nevada Junior Livestock Show will hosts its annual livestock show online this Monday through Friday, May 4-8. Youth ages 9-19 throughout the state and parts of California will be judged on their showmanship and knowledge of their chosen animals through videos they submitted online.

Nevada 4-H youth and their families launch statewide effort to make face masks

When the Elko County Emergency Operations Center put in a call March 31 to their local University of Nevada, Reno Extension office saying they needed face masks, Extension’s 4-H youth and their families swung into action, making masks not only for the Operations Center, but also for their local School District nutrition services workers who are helping to serve lunches to students who receive free and reduced meals.
