Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada and Carson City Toyota Thank Community for Support During Annual Matching Campaign
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada (BGCWN), together in partnership with Carson City Toyota, would like to thank the community for another successful year of meeting the goals for their annual matching campaign.
For every dollar donated during the months of February and March, Carson City Toyota matched those donations, up to $10,000.
This year, between the community’s contributions and the Toyota match, the total came to $28,500 raised! “The Campagni Family and entire team at Carson City Toyota have been supporters of ours for decades,” said Katie Leao, Executive Director of the BGCWN.
“We have a tremendous community and with the support we’ve received through the annual match campaign, we’ve been able to help keep some our most critical programs operating during a time when our world has been thrown into a bit of chaos.”
As a pillar of the community, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada provide safe places for local youth to learn, grow, and thrive. When Club operations are running as normal, they provide support to over 2,600 youth and teens across six separate site locations each year.
In addition to their great care programs for working families, the Clubs also operates crucial development programs for high-risk youth populations, ensuring they get the support and outlet the need to develop into productive and engaged community members.
Even with the Clubs’ doors closed for safety, BGCWN Staffers are still working hard. Their team members are conducting daily virtual programming with an emphasis on engaging youth in learning, physical fitness, and creative expression opportunities using accessible, limited supplies.
In addition, the Club serves as a designated pickup site for daily free lunch and snack service for area families.
“Right now, we are providing meals for 200-300 families per day,” Leao said. “We are conducting virtual programming, and we feel it is critical to continue providing services to our families in any way possible.”
For Carson City Toyota, supporting the Club has been a priority year after year.
“We recognize the importance of the work the Clubs perform, particularly for a local community like ours,” said Jeff Campagni, General Manager at Carson City Toyota. “Our family has long supported the values and mission of the Clubs, and I’m proud to help carry on that tradition with this annual matching program, especially during such a critical time.”
