Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 03/08/2020 - 11:06amMy friend Sarah suggested I write about forcing blossoms indoors since we are all anxiously awaiting spring color to arrive on trees and shrubs. Forcing blossoms gives us a lovely spring preview. The idea is to cut finger-sized non-essential branches of spring-flowering trees and shrubs, stick them in a vase of water indoors and wait for blossoms to open.

Taz is a 3 and a half year old Labrador mix and he is currently searching for his forever family!
Taz would prefer an adult only home, and to be the only dog. What can we say, he knows what he wants, and he wants to hog the attention!
Taz is also a PUPS graduate! Congratulations Taz!

Nevada cruise ship passengers being evaluated for coronavirus
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 03/06/2020 - 9:58pmCarson City, NV – Forty Nevadans who were passengers on the Grand Princess cruise ship are being contacted by health authorities to assess their health and any symptoms that may be consistent with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The passengers disembarked from the ship on Feb. 21.
The case that was announced as a presumptive positive through the Washoe County Health District was a passenger on the ship which also included passengers from other states who have since tested positive for COVID-19.

The monthly Downtown Carson City Wine Walk takes place Saturday followed by a performance from Tom Petty and Rod Stewart tribute bands during The Do Drop In’s “A Face in the Crowd” homeless fundraiser at Fuji Park. St. Teresa School will host its 17th annual Crab Feed Fundraiser. Combined with comedy at the Carson Nugget and Brewery Arts Center, the Carson City region is in store for a busy weekend. Carson City arrests: Man jailed after altercation over purchase of shrimp, cheese and vodka

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the band will keep Tom Petty fans on the dance floor until the show wraps up at 10 p.m.

They make great mothers and grandmothers, I know that. But you show me a man who says he understands middle-aged gorls and I'll show you a big fat liar. Though just because we can't understand gorls does not mean we can't love gorls. There is something comforting and contenting about a gorl's voice, a gorl's laughter.

Carson City community radio KNVC 95.1 continues to grow as it enters third year on the air

KNVC runs out of the historic Adams House on North Minnesota Street and, at present, boasts 31 volunteers into its broadcasting family.
