Time is running and you still can’t figure out what to get that special angler, hunter or outdoor enthusiast for the holidays? If you are still searching for the perfect gift for your sportsman, the Nevada Department of Wildlife has some ideas that might help.

The Nevada State Railroad Museum and the Friends of the Nevada State Railroad Museum, have added an additional Santa Train ride for children in our community who are battling cancer on Dec. 17 in Carson City.

The Santa Train is arriving this weekend and next weekend in Carson City at the Nevada State Railroad Museum. Trains operate this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10-11 and next weekend, Dec. 17-18.

St. Peter's Episcopal Church in downtown Carson City at Telegraph and Division streets offers its annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday November 12 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. The bazaar features crafters who won a total of 19 ribbons at the 2015 Nevada State Fair. Raffle tickets will be on sale for "The Secret Garden," a highly imaginative appliquéd quilt with William Morris inspired floral motifs.

Last weekend the cyclists ruled our city, but now the hot-rodders are king of the road. The Rockabilly Riot is jam-packed with activities all over town: the races and booths at Mills Park; a street dance at Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar; a tattoo show in the Community Center; a free concert at Gold Dust West; and Burlesque at the Nugget. Join "STEP" for our fundraiser to raise money for local Veterans and kids from the Boys and Girls Club for therapeutic riding sessions. We will be outside the CAL Ranch store at 2035 N Carson St. on Saturday June 25th from 11-2 selling hotdogs, drinks, and raffle tickets for wonderful prizes! We will also have Moses the Clydesdale and Flash our miniature horse on hand to visit with. So bring the kids out for a fun time!

The beautiful back lawn of the Governor's Mansion is the site of the Carson City Symphony's 32nd annual Pops Party concert. The Sunday, June 12 program features the Carson City Symphony, Carson City Symphony Chorus, and guest singer Jakki Ford.

Carson High School’s HOSA — Future Health Professionals, one of four Career Technical Student Organizations that are part of the CHS Career and Technical Education program, sent more than 100 students to compete in the state HOSA Future Health Professionals Leadership Conference in Las Vegas this month thanks to a $4,400 grant from Partnership Carson City and fundraising efforts by students.

Thank you everyone for participating in the 6th annual Carson High Safe & Sober 5k Run/Walk. We had a great turn-out with 104 sign-ups and 88 participants. The weather was the best it’s been for the past five years – even after many inches of snow earlier in the week!
