Adopt-a-Tahoe-Beach program launches clean-up efforts
Submitted by editor on Thu, 05/22/2014 - 4:07pmSouth Lake Tahoe area agencies have partnered to launch an Adopt-a-Beach-Tahoe program that will coordinate beach clean-up dates regularly from June 15 to Sept. 15, 2014.
The City of South Lake Tahoe, Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, League to Save Lake Tahoe, the US Forest Service Basin Management Unit, and Douglas County have developed the theme, “Caring is Cool - Lake Tahoe’s clarity starts with you, and there are a number of ways to help!”

Nevada’s state engineers to cut ribbon at Carson City Library

Nevada State Engineer Mr. Jason King, P.E. as well as five previous Nevada State Engineers who served in the top post starting from 1967 through 2010 will join King to celebrate arrival of the engineering-focused interactive exhibit.

Tahoe man admits fraudulent golf course scheme

Outdoors with Don Q: Escaping Carson City in the wintertime
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 01/23/2014 - 12:17amFor several years, Elaine and I have fled Carson City for a short time in the month of January or February to escape the cold, snow and ice of our area in the wintertime. This year was no exception, except, sadly, there is no snow.
We had been invited to be guests at the home of my cousin Lorraine and her husband Bob Scholes of Dayton, who spend the winter months in Indio, Calif.
If you, too, would like to temporarily escape winter in Carson City for the next couple of months, here is what we did:
