Dayton burglary suspect shoots self with stolen gun while watching firearm safety video
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Fri, 07/17/2015 - 9:35pmTwo people were arrested in connection with a rash of burglaries in the Dayton area during the past month with a break in the case discovered early this week when one of the suspects accidentally shot himself with a gun he allegedly stole, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office said Friday.
Over the past month the Lyon County Sheriff's Office has been investigating approximately 18 Dayton residential burglaries in the Riverboat Road, River Park, and Sutro neighborhoods.

According to the arrest report, the supervising officer assigned to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team was advised of a man walking in the roadway near the southbound onramp of the Carson City I-580 Freeway at College Parkway. The officer responded and observed a man hitchhiking.

Jordan Frasier Schroeder, a Tramway Drive resident, was brought by Douglas County authorities to Carson City to face the charges, issued April 6, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $30,000.
Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Fugitive from justice nabbed early Monday
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 04/06/2015 - 9:31amA 54-year-old man was arrested Monday, 12:29 a.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street on a felony fugitive from justice warrant out of Oregon, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Randall Lee Willis, a 56-year-old barber from Arkansas, had been wanted since April 30, 2002 on the criminal warrant. He is in the Carson City Jail on $50,000 bail awaiting extradition to Oregon.

Submitted by editor on Mon, 03/30/2015 - 11:30amA 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday 5:52 p.m. at Carson Tahoe Hospital on felony warrant charges alleging sexual assault on a minor and lewdness with a child under the age of 14, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Arrested was Daniel James Sperske, a resident in the 1400 block of North Edmonds Drive. He was at the hospital being treated for an injury. Officers knew he had the warrants issued March 24 out of Carson City Justice Court and made the arrest there. Bail: $150,000.
Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Man jailed on suspicion of domestic battery
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Tue, 03/17/2015 - 10:53amA 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday in the area of Century Circle on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery in which a witness told officers they observed the suspect use a belt to drag a woman into the residence, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, officers were called to the home and heard the couple arguing inside the residence, followed by a loud noise and observed the wall to the home flex outward.
Carson City deputies make arrests for warrants, reckless driving and domestic battery

Arrested was Joshua Jason Moore. The warrant was issued out of Kansas where he will be extradited.
Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Man arrested Sunday on suspicion of child abuse

The man is being held on $40,000 bail. According to the arrest report, officers responded to the 1500 block of Firebox Drive in reference to a child abuse report. Officers met with the alleged juvenile victim and a former step mother.
Pair jailed on felony charges in vehicle burglary, used stolen credit cards to shop, eat pizza
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 01/04/2015 - 1:06pmTwo were arrested and face multiple felony charges related to a vehicle burglary that happened Friday where stolen credit cards were used at a casino and to purchase around $900 worth merchandise, clothing and pizza, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Arrested were Joshua Allen, 34, of Richmond, Calif., and April Grover, 29, of Bay Point, Calif. Each face felony charges of auto burglary, commercial burglary, credit card fraud, prescription drug and controlled substance possession and a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession. The two were already in jail facing other charges.

Man wanted on felony battery charge arrested at Carson City restaurant

Rico Wiggins, 27, was arrested at around 9:25 p.m. at a restaurant in the 3800 block of South Carson Street, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. A 28-year-old man, Bryan Gaudette, was also arrested on suspicion of harboring a fugitive, a felony.

Man arrested on misdemeanor charges after eluding officer in pursuit
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Tue, 10/14/2014 - 10:33amA Carson City man was jailed Monday on four misdemeanor charges including eluding an officer after he was clocked on radar going more than 70 mph in a 45 mph zone and driving through a stop light, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a motorcycle patrol officer doing traffic enforcement in the 5000 block of Carson Street recorded the 34-year-old driver going 73 mph. The officer pulled behind the truck and activated his motorcycle lights and siren.
Pair hiding in crawl space arrested on felony drug charges

Arrested were Michael Tiehm and Ashley Marie Makara, both 25, of Carson City. According to the arrest report, deputies went to a home in the 3100 block of Minonee Drive in an attempt to serve arrest warrants on the pair.
Man jailed on felony invasion charge after breaking into day care center, eating bag of chips
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 09/14/2014 - 12:29pmA Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning on a felony home invasion charge after he allegedly broke a window of a day care center, entered the facility and ate a bag of potato chips, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Nathan Richardson, 32, was found inside an East Telegraph day care center after deputies were called at 3:52 a.m. on a report of glass being broken in the area. Arriving officers noticed a man inside the day care center in the kitchen area, and the broken window. The man was eating potato chips near the refrigerator, according to the arrest report.
Carson City deputies arrest three on felony charges

Oswaldo Torres, 28, is being held without bail awaiting extradition on the California Department of Corrections warrant issued June 2, 2014. The other man, 29, faces misdemeanor warrant related charges.
Carson City deputies make three DUI arrests overnight

According to the arrest report, a reporting witness observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Carson Street without headlights and had struck several curbs in a fast food restaurant drive-thru.
Carson city deputies arrest five on felony charges during weekend patrol

James Dean Anderson was taken into custody at 4:38 p.m. in the 1500 block of Continental Drive. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer and driving on a revoked license for DUI.

Officers confiscated small amounts of methamphetamine, heroin, more than 30 pieces of assorted drug paraphernalia and cash after a search warrant was granted. Three children — two four-year-olds and a seven-year-old — were taken into protective custody, according arresting Carson City sheriff’s officers.
Informant helps Carson City sheriff’s SET officers bust two for meth trafficking and sales

Daniel Alan Martin, 35, and Steven Vincent, 27, both of Carson City, face multiple felony charges. Approximately 16 grams of methamphetamine was recovered in the operation that involved text messaging leading up to a drug transaction.

Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong says the events this weekend at Mills Park generated a huge turnout, especially among families and by and large there were no major fights or crime-related incidents at the park.
Ex-felon, gang member jailed after witnesses said he brandished gun at park

Andrew William Tagay was jailed on numerous felony and misdemeanor charges, including being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon. His bail was set at $500,000. He was taken into custody in the 1200 block of Palo Verde by Tri-County Gang Unit deputies who responded to Mills Park.

A 47-year-old Carson City man, Jon Michael Dietmeier, was arrested Friday, 11:07 p.m. in the 2600 block of Highway 50 East by Carson City sheriff's SET officers on felony drug and weapon charges.

According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the area of Menlo and Lompa streets after dispatch received a call about a female screaming and children crying.
