Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Fugitive from justice nabbed early Monday

A 54-year-old man was arrested Monday, 12:29 a.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street on a felony fugitive from justice warrant out of Oregon, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Randall Lee Willis, a 56-year-old barber from Arkansas, had been wanted since April 30, 2002 on the criminal warrant. He is in the Carson City Jail on $50,000 bail awaiting extradition to Oregon.
In other arrests: A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 5:46 a.m. on seven misdemeanor charges including speeding, driving on a suspended license and registration, no proof of insurance and three failure to appear warrants, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, an officer observed a vehicle driving 60 mph in a posted 45 mph zone near the area of North Carson Street and Silver Oak Drive. The officer made a traffic stop and conducted a wants and warrant check through dispatch that advised of three outstanding arrest warrants. The warrants were all out of Reno Justice Court, dated Feb. 3, March 3 and March 17, 2015, the arrest report states. Bail: $5,002.

— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 9:32 p.m. on suspicion of property destruction and other misdemeanor charges after allegedly being involved with two juveniles who broke a Woodside Drive home window, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, officers were called to the area of Stanton and Monterosa. Dispatch advised that two males broke the window and were being followed by the reporting party who had a handgun on his person.

Upon arrival to the area of Stanton and Stanford, a deputy observed two teenage males walking eastbound. The deputy instructed the two to get on the ground but they did not obey the officer’s commands and continued walking. The officer instructed the two of them and the one following them to get on the ground. The officer held the three at gunpoint because they were unsure which person had the firearm.

A legally possessed handgun was retrieved from the reporting party. He positively identified both teenage males as the ones who broke the window. Both males appeared grossly intoxicated and refused to speak with the officer about the situation. A dispatch check of the 19-year-old came back with him being on Alternative Sentencing with a “no alcohol” clause, the arrest report states. He had a preliminary breath test of .112. He faces a misdemeanor charge of destruction of property, minor in possession and two counts probation violation. Bail: $8,650.

— A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 3:08 p.m. in the area of Corbett and North Carson Street on misdemeanor charges of domestic battery and violation of probation conditions, a deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a reporting witness told dispatch they had observed a man pull a woman out of a vehicle.
The deputy made contact with the suspect and asked him to explain what happened with the woman and the altercation with her. He said he and his wife were talking in a parking lot. He initially said he never touched her and that they were only arguing, according to the arrest report.
Another deputy made contact with the victim, who advised her husband did batter her and tried to pull her out of the car as the reporting witness had stated. When confronted with the information from his wife, the man said he did grab her in an attempt to stop her from driving and running him over, the arrest report states.
He was arrested for domestic battery and being in violation of conditions through Alternative Sentencing. Bail: $6,137.

— A 43-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 7:40 p.m. in the area of Robinson and Nevada streets on a confirmed Lyon County warrant alleging trespass, issued March 13, 2015 out of Dayton Township Court. Bail: $440.

— A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 3:40 p.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street on a misdemeanor charge, suspicion of petit larceny, and violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $1,352. A 20-year-old woman with him, also faces a charge of petit larceny. The pair allegedly stole items from Walmart and were detained by store security. Her bail was set at $352.

— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 12:07 a.m. in the 900 block of Woodside Drive on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear, issued Aug. 19, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $457.

— A 62-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 7:57 p.m. in the area of Como and Saliman on charges of driving on a suspended registration, failure to appear in court, and failure to provide proof of insurance. Bail: $1,804.

Those arrested on criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Go here for other weekend bookings.

Ricardo Serrano Perez was sentenced to 20 years in the Nevada Department of Corrections with minimum parole eligibility of 8 years. Perez was sentenced pursuant to a guilty plea agreement whereby the parties stipulated to the maximum sentence.

A 63-year-old housekeeper was arrested Thursday for 14 counts of credit card fraud and other offenses after allegedly stealing a credit card belonging to an 86-year-old patient who family members said was being treated for a stroke at a local care facility, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office detective.

On May 15th, 2024, shortly after midnight, deputies with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence located on the 600 block of Angela Street in Fernley, Nev., reference a caller who reported that he had murdered his mother. The caller additionally provided that he barricaded himself inside the house, was armed with a rifle, and had planted pipe bombs at the residence.

On a sunny Saturday morning, 100 volunteer participants fanned out across Lake Tahoe’s South Shore to take water quality samples from 34 streams, creeks, ponds, and lakes to monitor the health of the Truckee River watershed and Lake Tahoe as part of the 24th annual Snapshot Day. They were joined by teams doing the same tests simultaneously in other regions of the watershed.

Just before noon on Tuesday a crash with injuries was reported on the I-580 on ramp from N. Carson Street.

According to dispatch there are two vehicles involved, one of which was towing a trailer.

Injuries have been reported and the number two lane is blocked.

Traffic cameras show vehicles are moving slowly but are able to get through to Washoe Valley.

Motorists must use caution in the area.
