Dayton Taphouse Hosts Grand Opening and CTH Cancer Fundraiser Friday

The Dayton Chamber of Commerce is hosting a ribbon cutting celebration in honor of the newest Chamber member, the Dayton Taphouse.

The Dayton Taphouse opened in June in a historical 1887 saloon complete with a modern beer garden.

Artists Wanted: Carson City arts and culture agency seeks 2 muralists to make their mark

The Carson City Department of Arts and Culture is looking for two muralists to bring a little color to the capitol city.

The theme for the mural is “Reach for the Stars” and will be placed on a two sided wall near Empire Elementary School on La Loma Drive between Gordonia Drive and Stanton Drive.

Carson Mall hosts Friday Night Car Cruise

Students will be learning to make jewelry from books and magazines and enjoying wearing beautiful recycled jewelry that doesn't look like it is recycled at all.

Near-drowning victim saved by Good Samaritans, Marine 9 Crew in Tahoe

Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam is praising the extraordinary efforts of several Good Samaritans and Sheriff’s Office deputies who worked together to help save the life of a near drowning victim at Thunderbird Beach in Lake Tahoe last Friday.

Northern Nevada Development Authority: Mineral County Joins Nevada’s Sierra Region

Northern Nevada Development Authority on Friday announced its economic development service area has been expanded to include Mineral County. The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development \has designated NNDA as the regional development authority (RDA) for the county, effective July 1, 2019. Mineral County joins Nevada’s Sierra Region that also includes Carson City, Douglas County, Lyon County and Storey County.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office welcomed its newest deputy, Christopher Arrison, to its ranks yesterday in a swearing in ceremony held at the Sheriff’s Office in the Ormsby Room. Arrison previously served as a Lyon County deputy and was awarded the Superior Marksmanship Award in 2017.

Epic Rides 'Hail the Trail' returns to benefit trails in Carson City, other host cities

The Capital City Arts Initiative presents an exhibition, "Fast Lane/Slow Bake" by artists Cyndy Brenneman and Tom Drakulich in the Community Center’s Sierra Room, 851 E William Street, Carson City.

The exhibition runs now to Oct. 24, 2019. CCAI will host a reception for the artists on Friday, July 12, 5-7 p.m. in the Sierra Room, and the artists will give a brief talk about their work at 5:30 p.m.
