New Dayton Taphouse offering brews, burgers and more in renovated 1887 saloon
The Dayton Taphouse is bringing new flavors and refreshments back to the Mining State.
Located on 160 Main St. in Dayton, the new walk-in Taphouse is looking to bring back some life to its historic past.
“We’re trying to bring some of the history back here,” Interim General Manager and Consultant Tom Munoz said. “We’re trying to promote the great history here in Dayton.”
The Dayton Taphouse has been open since June 15, but the building itself was used for several other business including the Wild Horse Bar & Grill and the Gold Canyon Cafe over time.
With a creative touch, the Taphouse has introduced a brand new beer garden with several refreshing cocktails, beers and wines. They’ve also remodeled the interior for a more modern touch for guest parties and events.
“We’ve made a lot of improvements,” Munoz said. “It’s going to take some time, but we’re keeping it classy to keep people coming back, and we feel really good about it.”
Along with a select choice of beverages, the Dayton Taphouse offers a tasty lineup of burgers, fries, chicken wings, flatbreads, salads, desserts and more.
“I think we’ve really narrowed it down to making simple, great food,” Munoz said. “Starting with tasty burgers and some other easy things that go well with beer. It’s really all about being fresh and local, and that’s what we do.”
With a unique combination of food, drink and a friendly atmosphere, Munoz has big aspirations ahead for Dayton Taphouse.
“I see some potential for the future,” he said. “We’re the only restaurant in town to serve a beer garden and we’ll be updating our products over time and stick to what we do best.”
The Dayton Taphouse is open from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. The hours extend from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday.
