Scarecrow Festival returns to Carson Mall Thursday

Back by popular demand is the Scarecrow Festival at the Carson Mall, held Thursday through Saturday this week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Carson City AYSO kicks off fall soccer Sept. 10 with opening ceremony

More than 700 kids from the age of 4 to 18, their parents, coaches, referees and volunteers are expected to attend opening ceremonies for Carson City AYSO Region 140 fall soccer on Saturday, Sept. 10.

"We are excited about how interested the community is in AYSO." says Region 140 Commissioner Travis Kennison. "These opening ceremonies are a way for us to show pride in AYSO."

Inaugural Family Fun Day arrives in Carson City this Saturday at Mills Park

Families unite Saturday at Mills Park in Carson City for the first-ever Northern Nevada Family Fun Day, a community event featuring live music, workshops, shopping, raffles, a Kids Zone, giveaways, raffles and more.

There will be rock climbing demonstrations, face painting, pirates, obstacle courses, a bubble station, music, a photo booth, ice cream, refreshments beginning at 11 a.m. and running until to 9 p.m.

Carson City public safety agencies set to rally Tuesday for National Night Out at Mills Park

Cross-country cyclists make Boys and Girls Club stop ahead of Friday night WNC celebration

Members of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity rolled into Carson City Friday as part of a cross-country bicycling tour — Journey of Hope — to support people with disabilities. The bikers made a quick stop at the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada on Friday and have now pedaled their way to Western Nevada College for an evening filled with events and entertainment.

Aiming High: 2016 Carson City Airport Open House soars this Saturday

Aviation and aerospace displays, historic aircraft, formation fliers, hot air balloon rides, a pancake breakfast and more will be featured this Saturday at the Carson City Airport Open House.

With well over 6,000 visitors attending last year, this year’s event is expected will be bigger with a bevy of activities including interactive displays, flybys, plane and helicopter demonstrations, drone demonstrations, food and beverages, a bounce house and many family activities.
