Catmandu is a non-profit cat adoption center located at 1829 Brown Street in Carson City, NV. It is a homey, cage-free adoption shelter. The shelter relies entirely on donations and the proceeds from fundraisers. Catmandu provides a comfortable and low-stress environment for cats in transition;the ultimate goal being a cat for every home and a home for every cat.

I guess you could say the answer is a hard and fast “true” because, after all, it can’t hurt. Who doesn’t like the smell of freshly baked cookies?
But it’s also kind of false…
It isn’t like you can Betty Crocker your way to a sale, let alone at the highest price possible. Your entire house still needs to be appealing. A batch of cookies isn’t going to hide bad odors enough or divert people’s attention from a messy house that needs repairs.
If only it were that simple…

Rabid bats confirmed in Washoe and Clark counties, state warns against human and pet contact

Rabies is common in bats throughout Nevada, and bat activity tends to increase between the months of May and October.

Mercury levels in pet food to be studied by UNR scientists, crowdfunding to finance research

Preliminary analyses of a few dog food samples showed methylmercury to be a significant percentage of the total mercury.

At the All-Star Break, Reno is 42-48, placing them third in the Pacific Coast League Pacific Conference.

Fireworks during and after game as Aces blast Cats, 10-5
Submitted by Isaiah Burrows on Wed, 07/04/2018 - 10:31pmIt was a red, white and blue day Wednesday for the Reno Aces and their fans — 10,311 of them — the third largest in team history — as the home team set off fireworks at the plate well before the aerial show that followed after the 10-5 victory over the San Francisco Giants’ affiliate Sacramento River Cats.
A six-run third inning propelled the Aces as the Biggest Little City’s Triple-A baseball squad returned home to celebrate the Fourth of July in proper fashion.

Carson Valley doesn’t have a fireworks celebration, but they get the day off to a great start with a fun run, bbqs, concerts, and more. The clinic will be held at FISH, 138 E. Long St. on Saturday, May 19, 2018. The clinic will start at 9 a.m. the first 100 pets will be seen by veterinarians and their staff from Sierra Veterinary Hospital, Timberline Animal Hospital, Carson City Animal Shelter. As an added service, Pets of the Homeless will be sponsoring the free spay/neuters through CASI’s Critter Fixer program.

The kids of Wild Horse Children’s Theater continue their successful run of Junie B. Jones at the Brewery Arts Center - it’s their final weekend, so don’t miss out. Maddie’s Adoption Days is a state-wide event trying to find forever homes for dogs and cats; you’ll find several local shelters and rescues participating in the free adoption days.
