A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of marijuana possession with intent to sell, a felony, and other charges, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
Keith Dean Curtis was taken into custody at 5:25 p.m. in the 1000 block of East Fifth Street. According to the arrest report, officers were called to an apartment regarding reports of an odor of marijuana coming from an apartment.
An arriving deputy spoke with the female apartment occupant and explained the reason for the visit. During the contact the woman consensually invited the officer into the home. Curtis, who was inside, admitted that he had a small amount of marijuana in his right front pocket, according to the arrest report.
At the officer’s request the man removed the marijuana wrapped in a clear bag, from his pocket and then placed it on the table in front of him. Inside a blue backpack officers located more marijuana, a brown shoebox with marijuana shavings, a glass jar with marijuana and a plastic bag with marijuana and a white joint commonly used to smoke marijuana.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and a gross misdemeanor charge, introducing intoxicant to city. Bail: $5,000.

— A 41-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday, 9:52 a.m. in the 200 block of Jeanell Drive on a gross misdemeanor charge of intimidating a public officer, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. According to the arrest report officers were called to the area in reference to a possibility battery.
Deputies made contact with the reporting witness, an animal control officer, who had been in the area on an animal welfare check. He told the deputy the woman approached him and began to yell at him, making a fist and appeared as though she was going to hit him. The woman allegedly then smacked the animal control officer's clip board out of his hands. The officer did not wish to press charges.
While speaking with the witness, the woman continued to yell, curse and refused to leave the scene. The officer instructed the woman to leave multiple times since the animal control officer declined to press charges. The woman stated she was security and they needed to leave not her. She then got into a red four door car and appeared to leave the apartment complex, spinning out and then telling the deputy and officer to “move or I will take you out,” according to the arrest report. The deputy ordered the woman to stop. She refused and continued to drive out of the apartment complex.
Deputies returned to their patrol vehicles and left the apartment complex, conducting a traffic stop on the woman where she was then arrested. Bail $2,500.
