Carson City emergency crews called to brush fire that spread into Winnie Lane apartments
UPDATE 8:10PM: Five apartment units were damaged and six people have been displaced due to the fire at 410 West Winnie Lane, according to Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Micah Horton. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

UPDATE 6:48PM: Firefighters have knocked down the fire after entering into the interior of the apartment complex. Carson City Sheriff's Office detectives have been called to the scene. Red Cross has been called to respond for those residents of units affected by the fire. It is unknown at this time if there are any injuries or how many units have been damaged.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Wednesday night to a structure fire at an apartment complex in the 400 block of Winnie Lane.
The fire was reported at around 6:20 p.m. at 410 West Winnie Lane. Carson City dispatch reports multiple 911 callers saying flames and smoke are visible. Callers advised that a brush fire that started and spread into the apartment complex.
A Carson City Fire Department battalion chief reports the fire was moving from brush into the exterior of the apartment and reaching the second floor. Several residents are being evacuated. It is unknown at this time if there are any injuries.
Carson City Sheriff's Office advises that people and motorists should stay clear of the area. Traffic has been shut down along the streets that lead to the apartment complex.
