Jeep Grand Cherokee flips while making turn, no serious injuries reported
A Jeep Grand Cherokee with an adult and four juvenile passengers flipped Wednesday afternoon while making a turn at Simone and Telegraph streets in Carson City.
One passenger received a small cut after she was outside the vehicle attempting to help others get out. No other injuries were reported and speed doesn't appear to be a factor, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Deputy Bob Guimont.
The adult driver of the vehicle said that his brakes malfunctioned as he was attempting to make a turn, said Guimont. With the turn and the weight behind the vehicle, it rolled over from the passenger side coming to rest on its roof on a sidewalk in front of a home.
Having measured the path, the vehicle was traveling between 20 and 25 mph when it flipped, said Guimont. If it had been traveling any faster, and with the weight of the vehicle a factor, it could have flipped again into the home, he added.
The driver won't be cited and the vehicle's brakes will be inspected as part of the investigation, Guimont said.
