Update: Car drives into Sportman's Warehouse, five injured, two evacuated by Care Flight

UPDATE 3:00 p.m.: Law enforcement has cleared the scene and the vehicle was towed. According to Furlong the driver of the vehicle was a man in his 50s. They are currently not regarding the collision as suspicious. It is being investigated by the traffic unit as well as by Nevada Highway Patrol. The driver is suspected to have driven through the cement pylons and through the front doors of the store, and continued through the store striking four people until the vehicle came to a stop. The driver of the vehicle along with four individuals struck inside the store were taken to the hospital.

UPDATE 2:06 p.m.: They are preparing to remove the vehicle from the building.

UPDATE 1:00 p.m.: Stewart is reopened.

UPDATE 11:49 a.m.: According to Sheriff Ken Furlong they believe the driver of a vehicle traveling West on Wright Street experienced a medical emergency, causing them to continue through Stewart Street and directly into the doors of Sportsman’s Warehouse. The vehicle struck five people as it drove through the store.

UPDATE 11:43 a.m.: Both Care Flight helicopters have taken off and are heading to the hospital.

UPDATE 11:36 a.m.: Both helicopters have landed. Stewart Street is blocked.

UPDATE 11:08 a.m.: A second helicopter was ordered to the scene.

Streets will be closed down near the scene including at the roundabout for the helicopter to land.

Armed standoff between Carson City deputies, disturbed woman resolved, no injuries, woman safe

UPDATE 12:26 p.m.: She is in custody and unharmed, but very dehydrated. No injuries reported.

UPDATE: As of 12:16 p.m. it appears the woman has surrendered to deputies following a nearly three hours long stand off in the area of Prison Hill. No injuries have been reported. She set the fire arm down, put her hands on her head and knelt on the ground. Her vehicle is disabled.

A standoff in the hills near Prison Hill Tuesday morning is currently underway between Carson City Sheriff’s Office and a young woman who had claimed to have shot her mother, and is threatening to kill herself.

Vehicle vs. Motorcycle accident at Saliman and William Thursday afternoon, injuries reported

A vehicle and motorcycle accident was reported at 1:52 p.m. Thursday near the Saliman and William intersection.

The motorcyclist does not appear to be moving.

Motorists need to seek alternate routes in the area.

First responders are enroute.

BLM protestors arrested, charged with negligent discharge of a firearm following Saturday’s rally in Carson City

On Saturday, August 29th, at approximately 5:24 p.m., immediately following a Black Lives Matters demonstration in Carson City at the Nevada State Legislature Complex, Officers from the Legislative Police and Carson Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting that was later characterized as an accidental discharge of a weapon.

Legislative Officers immediately seized an AK-47 Assault Rifle and detained the suspect, a 22 year old Sparks man.There were no injuries reported and the suspect was described as cooperative at the scene.

Vehicle accident at 5th and Division with minor injuries reported Friday evening

A vehicle accident was reported just after 6 p.m. Friday near the 5th Street and Division intersection.

Minor injuries were reported.

Motorists should avoid the area or use caution in the area.

Douglas County: Three reports filed regarding BLM protest, no arrests made to date

The Black Lives Matter protest in Douglas County made national headlines after there were several videos filmed of verbal threats, racist taunts, and in at least one case a physical assault.

Douglas County issued an update and correction to their previous release, which stated that no reports had been filed regarding alleged assaults that occurred during the protest.

MINDEN — The planned Black Lives Matter protest and counter protest began at the Douglas County Judicial and Law Enforcement Center located at 1038 Buckeye Road in Minden at 9 a.m. The Sheriff’s Office estimates the combined size of the groups was between 750 and 1,000 protestors.

At 5:21 p.m. Thursday evening a vehicle accident with injuries was reported in the 2700 block of Highway 50 E. near Lompa Lane.

At 9:26 a.m. Thursday a traffic accident was reported on College Parkway and Retail.

A van and a white sedan collided, and one person is complaining of chest pain due to the impact.

According to dispatch a traffic accident occurred on Northridge and Roop just before 4:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

A bicyclist was hit but was able to get up and walk away from the scene.

First responders are enroute now.

Carson City Fire Department paramedics and sheriff's deputies responded to a vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon involving a pedestrian.

Carson City Firefighters knock out chimney blaze in Lakeview, no injuries reported

The Carson City Fire Department responded to a chimney fire in the Lakeview area Friday night.

Non-injury accident reported on Roop involving vehicle and light pole

According to dispatch, a non-injury accident was reported at 2:15 on Roop Street. A vehicle pulling a trailer appears to have lost control and struck a light pole. There are no injuries reported at this time.

On Thursday afternoon Central Lyon Fire was dispatched to a house fire in Silver Springs that left multiple people displaced and one with minor injuries.

Carson City responders called to Highway 50 Spooner rollover, no serious injuries reported

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called Wednesday evening to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 50 West, Spooner near the area of Golf Club Drive.

Crash at Highway 50 and Lompa blocks westbound traffic, no serious injuries reported

Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called Wednesday night to a vehicle crash in the area of Highway 50 East and Lompa Lane.

First responders called to multiple car pile up on Highway 50

Carson City deputies and first responders were called to the intersection of Highway 50 and 395 at around 3:15 p.m. on Friday afternoon after witnesses state a vehicle ran a ted light, causing a vehicle collision of four or more vehicles.

The east bound lane has been closed and drivers should use caution in the area.

There are no injuries reported at this time, though deputies advised there appeared to be significant damage at the scene.

Crews battle brush fire near Stagecoach; Carson City Fire Department knocks down small fire near Walmart

UPDATE 7:10PM From Lyon County Manager Jeff Page: The fire burning in Lyon County near Stagecoach is approximately 400 acres. No structure were threatened and no injuries reported. The cause is under investigation.

UPDATE 5:57PM: The Bureau of Land Management has taken over incident command of the fire near Stagecoach in Lyon County that started Sunday afternoon, according to emergency scanner traffic. As of last report, the fire was between 400 to 500 acres. KOLO reports the fire is 20 to 25 percent contained.

UPDATE 4:55PM: A wildfire that started Sunday afternoon in the Stagecoach area has burned between 400 to 500 acres as of late Sunday afternoon, said Lyon County Manager Jeff Page. No structures are threatened at this time, according to the Central Lyon County Fire Protection District. Nevada Division of Forestry crews are on scene with help from Storey County. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Sunday afternoon to a brush fire in the area of Walmart and Home Depot.

Emergency vehicles called to three car collision near Sonoma and Silver Sage

Just after 1 p.m. on Friday emergency units were called to a three car collision in the area of Silver Sage and Sonoma Streets.

Traffic in the area will see a delay, and it’s best to seek alternate routes. Traffic is being stopped near Eagle Station and Pat streets.

There are no injuries reported at this time.

Injuries reported from fire, helicopter crash in Lander County Saturday

Three incidents took place in Lander County on Saturday, Aug. 18: A helicopter crash involving employees with the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW), the Sheep Creek Fire, and a burn-over of two firefighters responding to the fire.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is on scene of a two-vehicle accident on the Interstate 580 side of Spooner Junction interchange in the westbound lanes.

Carson City Fire Department is responding. One person is complaining of neck pain. No other injuries reported.

Motorists in the area are advised to use caution. Traffic will be slow and there may be some delays.

Carson City Firefighters respond to structure fire in home on Monte Rosa Drive

UPDATE: 10:30PM: No flames were found in the house on Monte Rosa Drive Sunday night, but firefighters did find the smoke originated from a furnace fan motor, said Carson City Fire Department Captain Tom Raw, the incident commander.
There were no injuries reported.

Nevada Highway Patrol detains one at gun point after shots fired at Carson City Denny's

Carson City Emergency Dispatch reported shots fired at Denny's Restaurant, 2299 N. Carson Street in Carson City, shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday.

Nevada Highway Patrol is reported to have had one suspect held at gun point at the location. Carson City Sheriff's deputies were on scene to assist.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were kept busy Friday morning and early afternoon responding to motor vehicle crashes.

Multi-vehicle accident on I-580 south of Clearview overpass

Carson City emergency crews are on scene of a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 580 just south of the Clearview Drive overpass. The accident occurred in the northbound lanes and involves at least four vehicles.

One person is complaining of a wrist injury. No other injuries reported at this time.

All of the vehicles involved are on the shoulder and the No. 2 travel lane is shut down in the area for emergency vehicles. The accident is affecting traffic on northbound I-580. Motorists can expect delays.
