Chamber golf tournament raises money to send Carson culinary team to competition
The Carson City Chamber held its fifth annual Chairman’s Golf Tournament at Silver Oak Golf on Friday to benefit Pro Start and Skills USA students at Carson High. Though the weather was cold, spirits were high and 39 golfers were able to raise $3,500 to send the culinary team to state competition.
The evening BBQ feast was prepared by a great group of kids that included BBQ ribs, sausages, chicken, mashed potatoes, salads, desserts, and more. Not your basic BBQ, by any means.
First row from left: Chamber Chair Terrie McNutt; Dakota Martinez; CHS Culinary Arts teacher Penny Reynolds; Natalie Hachenberger and Superintendent of Schools Richard Stokes. Second row: Fritz Steinle and Tyler Warren. Fritz sold his culinary jacket to Pam Graber to add to the cause.
