Carson City area children cross the finish line Saturday at Capital City Kids' Triathlon
Dripping wet from the swim and breathless from the bike ride and run, kids of all ages crossed the finish line at the 12 annual Capital City Kids' Triathlon. Bright and early Saturday at 8:00 a.m. kids lined up to begin the triathlon where they must complete a swim portion, a bike riding portion and a running portion of the race.
The age groups are 13 to 18 years old, 11 to 12 year olds, 9 to 10 year olds, 7 to 8 year olds, and 4 to 6 year olds. The races are 45 minutes apart and racers must arrive 30 minuets before their race. After the races are over the "after-tri" party begins with sno-cones, face painting and a bounce house. Participants receive a medal and a kids' triathlon shirt.
