Eyes on Carson City: Parade of trains at NSRM
The Nevada State Railroad Museum (NSRM) in South Carson City kicked off weekend Fourth of July festivities with a parade of engines event Saturday morning around the museum complex.
Virginia and Truckee Engine No. 25 (1905), The Glennbrook, McKeen Motor Car (1910) and Edwards Motor Car (1927) paraded around the perimeter tracks at the NSRM, making several loops dressed out in patriotic flair and blowing their whistles in celebration of America's Independence.
A parade of trains will take place each morning now through Tuesday, July 4. Although the NSRM is normally closed Tuesdays, July 4 is an exception because of the distinctly American holiday.
Visitors to the museum over the holiday weekend can purchase an all-inclusive daily wristband, which includes admission to the museum and unlimited train rides for the day of purchase.
Train ride prices are $15 for adults, $5 for children 4 to 17, and free to children 3 and younger. Museum members can purchase a wristband for $10 each day.
