Carson City Board of Supervisors workshop to discuss long term motels, housing shortages, new roads and more
The Carson City Board of Supervisors will be holding a special workshop at the Silver Oak Golf Course Executive Conference Center on Feb. 27 beginning at 8:30 a.m. to discuss items such as long-term motel stays, housing shortages, funding gaps, and more.
The first item on the docket is a discussion regarding long-term motel stays.
Carson City Community Development Director Lee Plemel will lead the discussion-only topic which will go over compliance issues and possible solutions.
A presentation and discussion regarding possible solutions to unique housing shortages in Carson City will be given by Carson City’s Health Administration Director, Nickie Aaker, and Human Services Division Manager Mary Jane Ostrander.
Public Works Director Darren Schulz along with Plemel will be hosting a presentation regarding the acceptable of new roads, as well as a discussion about the transportation funding gap.
A presentation and discussion will be held regarding regulations for hemp cultivation and production manufacturing, held by Parks and Recreation Director Jen Budge, Sr. Natural Resource Specialist Lyndsey Boyer, and Plemel.
