Applications sought for Carson City Shade Tree Council spot
The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Shade Tree Council. There is currently one opening to fill a term that will expire in January 2015.
The Shade Tree Council provides advice to the Board of Supervisors on matters concerning the development, maintenance, management and promotion of a safe, healthy and attractive urban forest in Carson City. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every other month at 5:30 p.m. in the Sierra Room at the Carson City Community Center.
Applicants should note that a minimum commitment of up to 10 hours a month is expected. All members will serve without compensation. Applicants must be Carson City registered voters to qualify. The City’s Boards, Committees, and Commissions Policy and Procedures can be viewed online here.
Volunteer applications may be obtained from and returned to the Carson City Executive Offices. All applications submitted are considered public information.
Applications will be accepted until this position is filled. Interviews for the volunteer position will be scheduled for the first available Board of Supervisors meeting upon receipt of qualified applications. The Board of Supervisors regularly meets on the first and third Thursday of the month.
