Rice Street Tattoo holds grand opening Saturday, proceeds donated to local child fighting Lymphoma
Rice Street Tattoo is hosting its grand opening tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 9, with music, food, drink, and a raffle to benefit a little girl battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
The festivities begin at 1 p.m. at Rice Street Tattoo, located at 113 Rice Street. Burgers and hot dogs will be served, freshly grilled, in addition to live music and the new Rice Street Lager brewed for the occasion by Shoe Tree Brewing Co., available now.
The raffle proceeds benefit Aylee Sharron, who was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. According to Aylee's GoFundMe page, her father, Tony, works out of town four to five days a week, and donations are being asked to help the family afford keeping him home more to spend time with and take care of Aylee.
"Any contributions will help the Sharron family with medical expenses, child care for their other children, travel needs for treatment and everything else that piles up when dealing with this life-altering ordeal," said Alisha Kaskie, who is managing the GoFundMe page on Aylee's behalf. "Aylee is a happy and otherwise healthy little girl with an extremely positive outlook!"
Rice Street Tattoo decided to collect donations for Aylee through a raffle at its grand opening party.
"Aylee's family are long time friends of ours," said Rice Street co-owner Lezlee Robinson. "Aylee and my son have known each other since birth."
Raffle prizes include gift cards, beer from Shoe Tree Brewing Co., t-shirts, free manicures, tattoos, and more.
