Investigation underway in Carson Colony shooting, victim reportedly wounded in arm and leg
A man was flown by Care Flight late Tuesday night after suffering from gunshot wounds in an incident that happened on the Carson Colony.
At around 10:30 p.m. Washoe Tribal Police, as well as Carson City Fire Department and the assistance of the Carson City Sheriff's Office responded to a Shoshone Street residence.
Dispatch reported a male had been shot in the arm and leg. Law enforcement secured the location, allowing for Carson City Fire Department to get to the shooting victim, who was reported by CCFD to be in stable condition when they arrived, according to dispatch.
No arrests have been made at this time. The matter is under investigation and the Carson City Sheriff's Office is working with both the FBI and Washoe Tribal police as the matter began earlier in the evening as a domestic battery that happened in a parking lot off of tribal property in Carson City, said Sheriff Ken Furlong.
The shooting victim was taken to Carson City Airport and then flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno. A motive for the shooting has not been established. The victim in the domestic was treated locally.
We have left a message with Washoe Tribe Police and will update as soon as more information becomes available.
