Carson City Supervisor Karen Abowd holds Feb. 13 walkabout at Mills Park
The community is invited to attend Carson City Supervisor, Ward 1 Karen Abowd’s monthly walkabout, Friday, Feb. 13 at Mills Park.
This event has taken place since her first election more than four years ago, as the way to keep Abowd in touch with the people of the community and to help her do a more effective job understanding and representing their ideas, issues and concerns.
“I want to hear from folks about services needed for mental health and ways to improve access, as this is a pressing concern,” Abowd said. “I would also like input about the kinds of shopping opportunities they would like to see in our downtown core, as well as thoughts about the downtown corridor and Third Street Plaza designs as we move into the design phases of those projects.”
She would also love to hear ideas anyone might have about multicultural events and whatever else folks may want to discuss.
“I always leave the walkabouts with fresh perspective, and I appreciate that folks care and want to participate,” she said. “Carson City is our town and each of us has a role to play in shaping its future.”
To attend, meet at noon on Carson City Community Center’s steps. All are welcome to take a sack lunch.
