Trial date set for man accused in Dec. 13 fatal shooting on Carson Colony
A Reno man has been indicted for murder in a shooting that happened in December on Washoe Tribal land in Carson City.
Steven Bryan, 51, is accused of first degree murder in the shooting death of Kyle Bryan, 23, on Dec. 13, 2019, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Nevada. The trial date is set for April 7. Steven Bryan faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
The relationship between the men has not been disclosed, according to KOLO. Steven Bryan is a member of the Washoe Tribe. The incident happened in the 2800 block of Boyle Street on the Washoe Tribal land known as the Carson Colony.
Washoe Tribal Police reported in a Dec. 13 news release that the incident happened in the early morning hours. Washoe Tribe Police and the Carson City Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Boyle Street for a reported domestic battery.
Upon arrival it was discovered that an adult victim within a residence had suffered apparent multiple gunshot wounds. Carson City Fire Department responded to the scene. The 23-year-old, later identified by the Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office as Kyle Bryan, was declared deceased at the scene. Steven Bryan was arrested in connection to the shooting.
