Carson City arrests: Man jailed for attempting to enter vehicle with occupants still inside
A 29 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday night at 7:42 p.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street for suspicion of felony attempted burglary, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
Kelly Vaughn Manning was taken into custody after Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a male subject trying to open a car door with the occupant still inside, the arrest report said.
The reporting party (RP) and two other occupants inside of the vehicle told officers that a male subject (Manning) had walked out from behind a tree line and approached their vehicle. He then proceeded to open the left passenger side door when the vehicle's occupants began yelling at him and tried to lock the doors, the report said.
They also told deputies that the subject then tried to gain access into the vehicle by pulling on the driver's side door.
Deputies made contact with the subject, who matched the RP's description, and he was later identified as Manning. He was verbally aggressive toward officers, who were giving him verbal commands and trying to detain him in handcuffs, the report said.
The suspect began tensing up, but he was safely handcuffed by two deputies.
Manning was then placed in the patrol vehicle and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking without further incident. Bail: $10,000.

She also consented to a preliminary breath test (PBT) that resulted in breath-alcohol content (BAC) of .107 percent, the report said.
The suspect driver was handcuffed and placed in custody at that point. She was transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $1,269.
