Carson City deputies make burglary, drug related arrests
A 32-year-old inmate at Carson City Jail was met with an additional charge of felony burglary on Thursday, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
It was discovered after being arrested Wednesday that a criminal history showed Robert Steven Baker had a felony conviction on July 22, 2004 of uttering a forged instrument, the arrest report states.
The additional offense was added for allegedly committing larceny and being a convicted felon regarding a larceny that happened at Walmart in the 3200 Market Street on Wednesday, Jan. 17 of this year. He was booked for suspicion of felony burglary. Bail: $25,000.
In other arrests:
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 11:34 a.m., at a South Carson Street casino for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance after a co-worker found and reported finding an eyeglasses case with alleged drugs and a paycheck stub with the suspects name on it within, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, the employee reported to authorities the finding of an eyeglasses case containing a plastic zip-lock baggie with white crystallized substance resembling methamphetamine. The eyeglasses case also contained a pay-check stub for the employee, Jared Lanthier, the arrest report states.
The casino’s security told the Carson City Sheriff’s Office that Lanthier was scheduled to begin his work shift at 11 a.m. A CCSO deputy made contact with Lanthier in the security office where he was cooperative and stated that he had purchased three grams of methamphetamine from a friend Tuesday.
Lanthier stated the check stub was to be rolled and used to snort the methamphetamine, and that all of the property and drugs found belonged to him, the report states.
The suspected methamphetamine was weighed and totaled 2.8 grams, the arrest report states. Bail was set at $2,500.
