Is Nevada missing the boat?
The last couple of weeks have been quite busy news wise with all the repercussions from Pres. Obama's legal actions regarding immigration. We've all heard people echo their sentiments on both sides of this issue. My question is, why is Nevada not joining the Texas led effort to file suit on the Obama administration along with so many other states? Nevada's silence in this arena is disgusting. President Obama with the stroke of his pen has successfully done what many other anti-American, anti-capitalist and race baiters alike have failed to do since reconstruction. He has, with that pen, destroyed the last bastions of America's middle and working classes. This isn't a Republican rant against the Democrats because when this happened the Republicans went home and ate turkey. Think about that.
With all the racial headlines coming almost daily it's hard to focus on other news. As a former deputy sheriff I can see both sides of this issue. It's tragic but regardless of what the media tells us it's not a black-and-white issue. Divisive issues like this often cloud other news like Utah's decision to give the federal government a three week deadline to release its hold on Utah's sovereign lands. I'm left at a loss that Nevada isn't doing the same. For that matter why aren't all the Western States doing this?
Regardless of what revisionist history is teaching our children and grandchildren, the great men that created this wonderful experiment we call America, with help from the Iroquois, had most of it right in the beginning. Never in their wildest dreams could they have conceived of an America with a government this large. In this writers humble opinion the federal government has for sometime, not had the best interest of the American people at heart; Black, White or Red, because the only color they really respect is green.
Instead of going into a huge diatribe I ask the reader to simply look back into history. Take a look at the Roman Empire and it's similarity to the United States. America is, and has been since the end of World War II, an imperial nation. Also take a look at the rise of fascism and nazism prior to World War II. If one simply looks at the similarities between our federal government and the rise of the Nazis it's enough to give anyone pause. I'm sure that there were a lot of Germans and for that matter a lot of Europeans who thought it could never happen there. Unfortunately it did and millions died. This happened in recent history not hundreds or thousands of years ago. Dictators never change.
As Nevadans and Americans we should probably spend less time watching sitcoms, CNN or Fox News and spend sometime in the library reading history or talking to someone in their 80s or 90s, to gain their perspective on where this State and Country is headed. The insight they give may come as a surprise to you.
