The Spring has Sprung Show is on display until May 5 with 112 entries from Northern Nevada Artists. The Featured Artists also on display are Roxane Gleghorn with inspiring pieces of resin art embellished with gemstones and crystals and Kristy Dial with her award winning gourd creations. All three shows are open to the public from 12-4pm Tuesday through Sunday at the NAA Gallery at 449 W. King Street in Carson City.

The Nevada Artists Association Gallery in Carson City presents the Spring has Sprung Show on display until May 5 with 112 entries from Northern Nevada Artists. From birds to bears to bees, from flowers to mountains to beaches — you'll find a favorite.

The Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department is partnering with the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts to bring a free educational performance series to the Carson City Community Center.

Sunday, March 26 at noon, Wylder Resort Hope Valley continues its local history series with a 50-minute slide show, “Going for the Gold-Lake Tahoe and the Olympics."

Before Tim Curry dressed in drag to play mad scientist and seduce Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick in the Rocky Horror Picture Show, there was the Rocky Horror Show stage play.

This year marks the cult classic’s 50th year since its stage debut in 1973, which was quickly followed by the famous Rocky Horror Picture Show movie in 1975.

Line Dancing at the Dayton Valley Golf Club is set for March 30th at 6 pm.

$15 per person, includes a drink ticket.

The Capital City Community Band will present its annual “Salute To Young Musicians” concert on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in the Boldrick Theater at the Carson City Community Center.

One of the featured soloists is CHS senior, Alex Garcia Perez. He started his band education on Alto Saxophone but he found the low, rich sound of the Bassoon very enticing. He began studying the bassoon in the eighth grade. After a year of lots and lots of practice, he was selected to perform with the CHS Wind Ensemble.

The Carson City Cinema Club presents “Lilies of the Field” (1963) on Tuesday, April 4 at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall (511 West King Street, the old Catholic church).

Experience the rare opportunity to see the art of ballet and contemporary dance at its highest quality! Nevada Dance Company, known for putting on 'The Nutcracker' in Carson City every Thanksgiving, is offering the community a chance to see professional dancers, along with NVDC's newly created pre-professional company, dance works that have never been seen in Northern Nevada.

The annual Father-Daughter Ball at Carson High School, three-hour event that is open to all ages is a month away, with only about 1/3 of the tickets left. Organizers urge those who want to participate to get their tickets before they're gone.

Marietta Sophie Paul fills her prints and recycled-material collages with repeated patterns that create active scenes and narratives.

Paul’s show will be in the Community Center’s Crowell Board Room, from March 6 through July 6, 2023. CCAI will host a reception for the artist on Thursday, March 30, 5:00 – 6:30PM with an artist introduction at 5:30PM. The Community Center is located at 851 E William Street, Carson City. The Crowell Board Room is open for all the city’s public meetings.

Visiting artist Holly Gardner is widely known for her Textile Art. The owl above is made of fabric and complements the felting art of our resident artist Lisa O.

Brewery Arts Center will present a one night engagement with The Glenn Miller Orchestra on Saturday, March 25t at the Carson City Community Center.

The concert will feature Jake Xie performing Fantasia for Alto Saxophone, the Carson High School Winter Drum Line, the Carson High School Clarinet Choir, Brass Quintet and Bassoonist Alex Garcia Perez. The recipient of the Capital City Community Band Richard Doede Music Scholarship will also be announced at the concert.

Fresh off their third tour to Iceland with crazy adventures like playing at an Icelandic film star’s wedding to a show on a whale watching boat, San Francisco based band, Dirty Cello will present their exciting blend of blues, rock and Americana that has been described by Oakland Magazine as, “...funky, carnival, romantic, sexy, tangled, electric, fiercely rhythmic, and textured, and only occasionally classical” at Nashville Social Club in Carson City March 18.

Sunday, March 12 at 1pm, Wylder Resort Hope Valley will be continuing its history series if the weather allows. We’re going to try again with the program, “A Nice Place to Visit, Tourism Below Sea Level.”

The Mile High Jazz Band will be joined by singer Jakki Ford and seven award-winning poets and readers for "Pi(e) in the Sky,” an evening of big-band jazz and poetry, on Tuesday, March 14, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at Gina's Good Life Music & Lounge, 507 N. Carson Street inside the Carson Nugget. The music is free, donations are welcome.

Part 1 of “Artist In Residence” — Solo Exhibit of Contemporary Mokuhanga: Japanese Woodblock original prints by Jackie Pias Carlin at the Atrium Gallery, Western Nevada College opening March 6 through May 11, 2023.

Japanese Woodblock printing process uses carved negative sketches on woodblocks then rubbed on paper with a baren to produce original hand-pulled prints. Each woodblock produces one color.

Attention musicians! The Carson City Symphony, conducted by David Bugli, will begin rehearsals for the second concert of 2023 on Wednesday, March 8, 7:00 to 9:15 p.m., at the Carson High School band/orchestra room, 1111 N. Saliman Road in Carson City.

Mile High Band Association’s 2023 Jazz & Beyond Festival Committee is sponsoring an art contest for northern Nevada artists, including teachers and students. Selected entries in the competition may be used to promote the festival, and the winning entry will be featured on the festival’s advertising poster and program cover.

The Carson Valley Arts Council is pleased to present an evening with Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas. The duo will perform at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda in Minden, at 7 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023.
