The Carson Valley Arts Council is pleased to present an evening with singer songwriter and prodigious slide guitarist David Jacobs-Strain who will be accompanied by his longtime musical partner Bob Beach.

Carson Valley Arts Council presents artist Ginger Winters at the Copeland Gallery in Minden from Feb. 2, 2023 through March 31, 2023. Ginger's work includes silk painting using fluid dye to capture movement and life and then mounted on canvas. Ginger’s subject matter is nature, whether landscape, bird or flower.

Local artists and Nevada Artist Association members, Gary Wilson and Robert Bucknell invite you to their Artists Reception on Sunday, Jan. 29 from 1 to 4pm at the NAA Gallery located at 449 W. King Street in Carson City. Light refreshments will be served.

Carson City Symphony Association announces the Joyful Noise Carson Children’s Choir will begin its 2023 Spring Semester on Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m., at an upstairs classroom at the First United Methodist Church, 412 W. Musser Street in Carson City.

Sidne Teske said, “Landscapes fascinate me.” In "A High Desert Tribute" exhibition for the Capital City Arts Initiative, Teske presents paintings of dynamic landscapes and another series of compelling figure studies.

Northern Nevad indie author and illustrator, Shelby deBraga, has released a free Children’s eBook, "Bennie the Bear — Friends of the Forest." deBraga is launching the book for free for 5 days, until Jan. 20, to share with young adventurers ages 2-8 years old and their nature-loving family members.

Mile High Jazz Band will present “Big Band Jazz at Gina's,” on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Gina's Good Life Music and Lounge, 507 N. Carson Street inside the Carson Nugget.

The Achilles Wheel show at Nashville Social Club in Carson City on Friday, Jan. 13 is canceled due to weather and potentially dangerous driving conditions for the band who must cross Donner Pass coming and going. On Sunday, Jan. 15 at 1 p.m.,, Wylder Resort Hope Valley continues its history series with a 50-minute presentation, “Into the Jaws of Hell.” Local historian David Woodruff recounts the dramatic and heroic tale of how forlorn and desperate argonauts found demise in the desert while searching for a shortcut to the California goldfields, and christened the chilling name upon their fatal location, Death Valley.

Braedan Wedderburn, Sujwal Reddy Yeedunuthula, and Nora Ahumada were awarded the seventh annual Rosemary Nebesky Memorial Scholarships by the Carson City Symphony Association this year.

The Jimbo Scott Band will perform at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda in Minden, at 7 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2023.

A powerhouse singer-songwriter, his music recalls Tennessee country, bluegrass and Oakland soul. Carson Valley Community Theatre is producing a brand new comedy, one you might have heard of. In fact, it's the third and final comedy in the Verdeen Cousins Texas Trilogy that begins with "The Red Velvet Cake War" and continues with "Rex's Exes."

After a ten year absence, the Carson Valley Arts Council is pleased to present the Tahoe Adventure Film Festival (TAFF) 2023.

The Nevada Artists Association has announced Jackie Huffman as the winner of the Nevada Day Show's People's Choice Award for her oil painting, "Hidden Grotto."

What is Choreographed Ballroom?
Choreographed Ballroom, also known as Round Dancing or Synchronized Ballroom, is where the dancers proceed in a circular counterclockwise pattern around the dance floor. Instead of memorizing a dance routine, you are “cued” the steps to pre-choreographed dances.
