Dinner and Concert Combo: Wheeled Food Wednesday and jazz trio at BAC

This week, in cooperation with Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music Festival, the Wesley Orsolic Trio will be playing a live show at the BAC from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The first Hot August Nights began on Aug. 1, 1986 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, and Virginia City brought a sense of nostalgia back to the historic mining town.

Agencies knock down fast moving brush fire in Dayton near River Street and Our Park

UPDATE 5:29PM: Mop up continues after this afternoon's fire off of River Street in Dayton, according to Central Lyon County Fire Protection District. An acre assessment is underway. The cause is under investigation.

UPDATE 4:35PM: Incident command on the fire near River Street in Dayton reports the fire's forward progress has been stopped. A helicopter also was doing a flyover for hotspots. The cause is under investigation.
Live auction for Carson City benefit Under the Stars concert grows, includes experience packages

Now in its 11th year, the Concert Under the Stars begins 5:30 p.m. July 10 at the Eagle Valley Golf Course, 3999 Centennial Park Dr. in Carson City. The evening includes world-class and legendary music by Poco, Pure Prairie League and Firefall — as well as the live auction which takes place between performances.

Several booths, food, and refreshments joined a pair of live performances to bring even more heat to a warm summer day in Carson City.
Vehicle crash on College Parkway with one reported injury, vehicles to be towed

UPDATE: As of 1:15 p.m. College is still partially blocked while the Sheriff’s Office removes debris from the crash. Motorists should seek alternate routes to relieve traffic congestion.
UPDATE: Just before 12:45 p.m. first responders left the scene with one patient to be transported to the hospital. The Sheriff’s Office took control of the scene.

Just before 12:30 p.m. Friday first responders were called to a vehicle crash on College Parkway near Northgate which resulted in traffic being blocked momentarily and at least one reported injury. Two vehicles were reported needing tows as a result.
