Dinner and Concert Combo: Wheeled Food Wednesday and jazz trio at BAC

It’s still summer, so Wheeled Food Wednesdays are still rolling through each week to the Brewery Art Center to bring great food to the community. This week, in cooperation with Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music Festival, the Wesley Orsolic Trio will be playing a live show at the BAC from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The Dead Winter Carpenters brought a bluegrass and country flair to the fourth annual Levitt AMP outdoor Music Series on Saturday.

Attendees by the hundreds filled the Change Companies Stage on Minnesota Street at the Brewery Arts Center to soak in another warm summer night with a pair of terrific live performances.

Lyon County: Brush fire near Yerington contained after section of 95A closed

Firefighters in Lyon County were sent to a brush fire Thursday afternoon off US95A north of Wabuska Hill near Yerington. It was contained shortly before 3 p.m. and crews were mopping up, according to Lyon County officials via Twitter.

The City of South Lake Tahoe celebrated its largest and most successful Fourth of July parade ever, with 80 entrants, 300 walkers and thousands crowding the streets to watch, officials said Thursday.

Agencies knock down fast moving brush fire in Dayton near River Street and Our Park

UPDATE 6:05PM: The fire burned approximately 12.5 acres. No structures were damaged, according to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch.

UPDATE 5:29PM: Mop up continues after this afternoon's fire off of River Street in Dayton, according to Central Lyon County Fire Protection District. An acre assessment is underway. The cause is under investigation.

UPDATE 4:35PM: Incident command on the fire near River Street in Dayton reports the fire's forward progress has been stopped. A helicopter also was doing a flyover for hotspots. The cause is under investigation.

Live auction for Carson City benefit Under the Stars concert grows, includes experience packages

The live auction at the Concert Under the Stars, a benefit for The Greenhouse Project, is anticipated each year and has grown to include an even greater array of experience packages and service items.

Now in its 11th year, the Concert Under the Stars begins 5:30 p.m. July 10 at the Eagle Valley Golf Course, 3999 Centennial Park Dr. in Carson City. The evening includes world-class and legendary music by Poco, Pure Prairie League and Firefall — as well as the live auction which takes place between performances.

Live music, food, beverages and more: post-ride activities going on in downtown Carson City

Hosted by Epic Rides, Carson City Off-Road races weren’t the only venues that kicked-off a jam-packed weekend in the state capital’s downtown on Saturday.

Several booths, food, and refreshments joined a pair of live performances to bring even more heat to a warm summer day in Carson City.

Vehicle crash on College Parkway with one reported injury, vehicles to be towed

UPDATE: As of 1:30 p.m. the street has been cleared.

UPDATE: As of 1:15 p.m. College is still partially blocked while the Sheriff’s Office removes debris from the crash. Motorists should seek alternate routes to relieve traffic congestion.

UPDATE: Just before 12:45 p.m. first responders left the scene with one patient to be transported to the hospital. The Sheriff’s Office took control of the scene.

Just before 12:30 p.m. Friday first responders were called to a vehicle crash on College Parkway near Northgate which resulted in traffic being blocked momentarily and at least one reported injury. Two vehicles were reported needing tows as a result.
